Khruangbin is a musical trio consisting of Laura Lee on bass, Mark Speer on guitar, and Donald Johnson on drums. Their music is often described as a blend of psychedelic, funk, soul, and world influences. The band's name is derived from the Thai word for "airplane." Khruangbin gained popularity for their distinctive sound characterized by instrumental improvisation, melodic guitar riffs, and laid-back rhythms. Personally, it makes me feel like i'm sitting on the beach!

A La Sala is the fourth studio album by Khruangbin. It is described as an exercise in returning in order to go further, and do so on your own terms. Khruangbin is a three-piece band from Texas, formed of Laura Lee on bass, Mark Speer on guitar, and Donald Johnson on drums. Taking influence from 1960's Thai funk - their name literally translates to "Engine Fly" in Thai - Khruangbin is steeped in the bass heavy, psychedelic sound of their inspiration, Tarantino soundtracks and surf-rock.

Today marks the 20th anniversary of one of my favorite albums of all time. To honor it, I put together a mix that comes straight from my childhood. I spent hours skating to this album in my neighborhood. Playing it on my  iPod, in car rides back and forth to Dallas. I can still remember walking into Fast Forward Skate Shop and hearing “Banquet” for the first time… This album became the soundtrack to so many parts of my life.
