The mix that started it all. Makossa Classics initially came about as a 30 minute demo that I used to give to venues and promoters when I was looking for gigs. The mix consisted of some of my favorite songs I was playing at a new Tuesday weekly in Oakland called "Makossa" with my partner Joe Quixx. I thought the types of music we were mixing and the way we played them were unique and I wanted to capture that. I always got a good response when I would play the demo for friends so on the eve of the 2nd anniversary of our Makossa party I decided to add 30 more minutes and make it an official mix as a giveaway at the party. Long story short the response was great, Makossa traveled across the Bay and across the country to New York, and Vol. 2 came to light a couple of years later. For those that have only heard Vol. 2 and are hearing this for the first time I'm sure the voicemail intro will make a little more sense now. Hope you enjoy! -Wonway

DJ Dominiq (Dominiq Alvarez) born and raised in the beautiful Orange County, CA began DJing at the young age of 15 and has gone from DJing at his first job at a roller rink in Orange, CA and producing dance remixes for his little sisters Jr High cheerleading team, to now DJing at some of the biggest clubs in Orange County like Shark Club, In Cahoots, 8eighty8, Tia Juanas Night Club, and Pierce Street Annex and producing dance remixes for the 2010 Los Angeles Laker Girls to dance to during the playoffs.

DJ Dominiq got his start at Holiday Skate Center in Orange, CA and from there he fell in love with the trade. Working for mobile DJ companies such as Invisible Touch Entertainment, Dominator DJs, and Rock Around The Clock Mobile DJs, before finding his calling with Special Event Entertainment owned by DJ Daniel. Dominiq now manages and is top DJ of the company that has been recognized by 2010 Bridal Magazine and weddingwire.com. 

DJ Dominiq gets his inspirations from DJs such as DJ Felli Fell, DJ Eman, the late DJ AM, and his own boss DJ Daniel. "I was lucky enough to find my calling when I was so young, and theres not a single day that I take it for granted." DJ Dominiq loves doing it for the crowd, for the music, and to make everyone get lost in the music.
