We are thrilled to present you the first full length album by Xavier Fabre and Bibiana Graeff aka Xique- Xique!

Following the flow of their first “Xaxoeira“ EP (which means „Waterfalls“ in portuguese, but spelled in a poetic way) the Album sets an artistic landmark at „Na Lagoa“ (At the Lake). 

The 10 album tracks were composed during the last three years between Istanbul, Bangkok and Heliodora (Brazil). Especially from this tropical haven you will find plenty of field recordings throughout the album, like the bird called „Siriema“ in same-titled track. Besides the Xique-Xique trademark sound featuring crispy beats, organic percussions, bell-like synth sounds and a lot of love for the detail you will find Bibiana herself aswell as Bruna Takasse (the voice of „Xaxoeira“) on Vocal duties. 
 
„Na Lagoa“ is structured as Dawn, Midday, Nightfall and Midnight, and invites you to spend the day at an imaginary lake. In the water, you feel the warm synth textures enclosing you just before cascades of arpeggios start to drop into your ear. Once on the other bank, you wander around and observe the fantastic flora and fauna: dubby effects fly by like surreal bugs, mesmerizing synth themes roaming the scenery like bewitched wild animals that welcome you in a dreamlike future-jungle-fantasy.

Now come, and follow Bibiana's invitation "Sobe no Tapete voador”
Climb on the flying carpet and come to the Lake. Your dreams are already there.

Creeping through the wild, you are aware that you are not alone, no matter what your eyes may tell you. Around every corner, under and up above, interesting companions await you. Amid adventure, connection blossoms in strange places. 'Aldeia' slithers in like a snake ready to coil around your body but means no harm- not yet. If you are brave enough to saunter in with such confidence then some fun is to be had first. Impish chords play with soft drumming that lures you in, and hypnotic notes put you in a trance. There is little room for escape, but ask yourself, do you want to? 'Aldeia' has a magnetizing Latin influence that courses through the track like passion through your veins and makes you one with the fierce jungle around you.

The time has come to leave your latest connections and continue down the path of discovery. There is a secret that this jungle holds and it wants to entrap you before you have the chance to discover it. 'Moviola' which is a track that's heavily influenced by Gustavo Santaolalla, leads you into a quaint village far from the realities of your world. You are a foreigner in this land, and the choice to enter is daunting. They are suspect of this new character and feel out whether or not you are a real threat to it. The language barrier is a limitation hard to surpass, but you read each other instead. A bond manifests through a small window of familiarity as it's present throughout the music. Xique-Xique dropped their downtempo and trippy 'Na Lagoa' album via The Magic Movement in 2021 and this release features dance floor friendly reworks of its most popular tracks.

The first of the reworked tracks comes from Zoe Reijue who delivers a new version of "Prelúdio". Having previously featured on other labels including YION, Serafin Audio Imprint and WAYU Records, her remix has the original's enchanting atmosphere and dreamy melodies layered with additional percussion.

Psilosamples is an emerging talent from Brazil whose remix of "Espelho d'água" focuses on the original's flowing percussion, but strips back the lead synth to create a more atmospheric version.

Jacob Groening returns to his record label Kamai Music with two enchanting organic house tracks alongside remixes by Xique-Xique and Kermesse.

Known for having a style that blends deep atmosphere with captivating melodies and flowing percussion, Jacob Groening is a talented producer who has featured tracks and remixes on other imprints including Bar 25 Music, The Gardens of Babylon, and 3000 Grad Records.

Based in Berlin, Jacob Groening is a veteran of the German club scene who has also travelled the globe to play headline DJ sets everywhere from India to Brazil.

On remix duties, Xique-Xique is a downtempo and trippy artist known for his release on labels such as Stil Vor Talent and The Magic Movement.

The other remix comes from Kermesse who are an Argentinian duo from Buenos Aires whose eloquent style of organic house can be found on the likes of Sol Selectas, Bar 25 and LNDKHN.

“Neko” opens the release with its japanese vocals from berlin based Artist Kotoe. Added by gamelan-style melodies fused with shuffling percussion and a fluttering bassline. It’s a sensual track that builds tantalising suspense as it unfolds with intricate attention to detail.

Xique-Xique’s remix of Neko adds in a new progressive bassline which is rich in subfrequencies that fill the track with a radiating warmth. His rework maintains many of the original’s key elements while adding pads and other synths to make a more melodic version.

“Suingu” is the second of the two originals and it’s got psychedelic atmosphere layered with acoustic guitar chords and sequenced organic percussion. It’s a stripped-back track that gives each part room to breathe while also ensuring the drums maintain a dance floor friendly energy.

Kermesse close out the release with their remix of “Suingu” which adds a jovial funk with chopped-up sections of the original parts reformed into a jazz-inspired rework. Vibrant and full of personality, it’s a charismatic version that is truly mesmerising.

Nutia provides a trippy remix of "Preludio" in a similar style to what the Hamburg based artist has featured on other imprints such as Sol Selectas and Underyourskin Records.

PREMIERE: Xique-Xique - Say Hum (Batu Ozer Remix) [The Magic Movement]

This is the dj set I made in Copenhagen on August 27th 2022 to close the Tribunen  Stage of Karrusel Fest after Kerala Dust. A very special selection for a truly a magical night that I won't forget ✨ 

The tracks naturally took their place in the mix as the set was going forward. Despite the distance between the stage and the dancefloor, the atmosphere was electric and I could feel so much energy in the air🖤 

Since I was the last artist to perform on that stage on the last day of the festival, I made a clearly crossover set, from 103 to 123bpm, mixing some of my favourite tracks from the last 15 years, at least

On The Magic Movements latest trick, Xique-Xique from Sao Paulo paints a psychedelic panorama of the mysterious world of Amazonia, full of waterfalls, bellicose woman, and an endless flora & fauna. By combining brazilian rhythms with elements of techno, dubby house and plenty of bird sounds they create a unique bunch of vivid slow jams to get lost in.
Beeing already a classic in the infamous circles, „Xaxoeira“ is finally available on vinyl! This vibey masterpiece is the straightest of the bunch, a proper slow-mo House tune, with a dark flute sample and a broken organ that grinds its way into the deepest corners of your brain.

Here is the morning set I did for Fusion Festival, on Bachsteltzen Velvet Soup stage, closing the Sonido Tropico slot from 7h to 8h30 on saturday, after Reple, Spaniol and Exz.                                      

It was my first Fusion and what a wilde experience (:  Thanks to everyone that joined us <3 
I need to thank Sonido Tropico and most especially Billy Caso.

The set was completely improvised, starting really "Xique-Xique" before "Dunwich" gets his foot in the door, at the end of the set (;

2021 is coming in hot with Xique-Xique's Remix package of Noema's „Twilight“!

In his remixes, Xique-Xique creates a psychedelic trip using warm subbass, driving percussions, dubby effects and gritty synth sprinkles. 

On the Nightflow rework, Xique-Xique increases the tempo and adds Theremin and Vocoder, which gives an exciting contrast to the organic downbeat vibe.
