I had my first introduction to electronic music with the release of Odesza's album "In Return" in 2014. I was instantly obsessed, and since then I have always had a passion for edm. During my senior year of high school (2017-2018) Illenium's album "Awake" was released, and it completely changed my perspective of what electronic music could be. The vocals, production, and emotion of those tracks were unlike anything I had ever heard. That album got me through some very hard times, and I wanted to do the same for someone else through music. Towards the end of senior year I downloaded Ableton (a popular program for music production). I was incredibly overwhelmed. I had no prior musical knowledge or experience, and Ableton is extremely difficult to jump into. I learned quickly that it takes a tremendous amount of knowledge, creativity, and hard work to produce music. This was a discouraging revelation. Every few months I would sit down, produce a terrible track, close my laptop and move on thinking "this just isn't for me". Then around December of freshman year of college, a switch flipped in my mind. I decided that I was not going to stop until I learned music production. That was about five years ago, and I'm still working hard to produce music with emotion, something people can connect with. I truly believe that no heart makes dreams work and time can't match.

SHVDZ, pronounced "shades" are a UK based DJ & Production Duo comprised of Reece Ginestri and John Connor. SHVDZ's journey through music together begins at 16 years old when the pair were attending the same music production course whilst still in high-school. On the very first day they quickly discovered their mutual love for Blasterjaxx's big room classic "Fifteen". 2 weeks after their initial meeting, Reece's family moved house and as fate would have it, their new home just happened to be on the same street as John. From this point onwards, the pair began to work on music together and in 2020, SHVDZ was born. 

After their introduction to the EDM world in 2020 with releases on Lowded Recordings, Soave Records & Diverge Recordings, SHVDZ have been refining their signature sound. The SHVDZ sound takes inspiration from many different styles, with their latest tracks fusing elements from Techno, Trance and Progressive.

In 2023, SHVDZ debuted their new style with their remix of the Portuguese hit ‘Sentir Saudade’ alongside EDM heavyweight Kura on Tiësto's AFTR:HRS imprint. This was quickly followed up with their first ever Techno EP: ‘Eternity’ on Reload Records.

SHVDZ are kicking off 2024 with a bang with their new track ‘Do My Thing’ dropping on EXTATIC Records. Maddix has been a big inspiration for SHVDZ so to be releasing their 1st track of 2024 on his label feels like the perfect start to what is looking like is going to be a big year for the duo.
