Sup y'all?! We are back to the hidden Gems with another DOPE album from the 206 (Seattle). Indeed, we are proud to announce we got the Doublevision crew in the house. 

Doublevision is composed of Bean One (the producer), Page 3 & X.Troydinaire (the two Emcees). 

In 1999 they put out their first and last album called 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑌𝑒𝑎𝑟 𝑇𝑤𝑜 𝐺𝑒𝑒, a real Gem that was only pressed on CD format at the time. 

This solid project captures the sound of an era and how the 206 sounded back then. 18 tracks album, pure Heat, Boom Bap, Conscious, Hardcore styles, just as we like it. 

On a side note: Bean One produced for many talented Artists such as Living Legends, Macklemore, Black Sheep, Jurassic 5, Supernatural, X Clan, Rasco, Source of Labor, Nomad, The Silent Lamb Project,  just to name a few.

Also, in this album you will clearly hear the Do The Math influences, this is because Bean One and Vitamin D were connected, D is mentioned in their shout too. It's a small world. 

So yeah, it was about time we release this bomb album for the first time on vinyl and that we repress the CD format, the OG CD being impossible to find at a decent price.

Lenzman is back on Metalheadz with his first original work since his debut album Looking At The Stars. The EP is everything you would expect from Lenzman; soulful and well produced with a firm eye on the dancefloor. Hip hop, and you don't stop: this Carhartt WIP radio show brings you Chopped Herring Records, founded in 2001 in Manchester by collector, rare vinyl eBay merchant, and DJ Bob Lipitch aka Pro Celebrity Golf aka Chubby Grooves. Since the beginning his label releases limited edition hip hop vinyl - never released before recordings from back in the day and new music from today's artists - always dope and fresh. The „Three Sinister Syllables“ LP by the artists Pro Celebrity Golf and Jay Glaze from 2004 is probably the record, that put the UK label on the global hip hop map. Others artists from their big roster include old and current stars like Action Bronson, Masta Ace or Stetsasonic, as well as new names like Epidemic from South Florida, Timeless Truth from NYC or US duo OG Aborigines amongst many others. Many of them are included in our Carhartt WIP Chopped Herring Records radio Show that was ‪mixed by Mr Sonny James & Matthew Law of the‪ "Illvibe Collective" out of Philadelphia.

Solid Steel (2nd June) It's a special Stones Throw takeover this week, with label founder Peanut Butter Wolf heading up the show exactly 20 years after he first appeared on Solid Steel in 1997 (which you can also hear at http://solidsteel.net/broadcasts/1069), followed by jazz drummer and producer extraordinaire Karriem Riggins.

In Hour 2 it's Karriem Riggins, a multi-instrumentalist, DJ and producer who has worked with Kanye West, Kaytranada, Common, Erykah Badu, Slum Village, Talib Kweli and The Roots. He is the son of jazz composer and keyboardist Emmanuel Riggins (who played alongside jazz guitarist Grant Green) and got hooked on the drums watching his father’s jam sessions in their garage. Raiding his parents’ record collection was like a portal to crate digging, a prelude to his becoming a brilliant musician and budding beat conductor. His mix showcases those skills perfectly with a heap of exclusive beats alongside tracks from Thad Jones, EddieHazel, Little Beaver, Common and J Dilla. His second solo album 'Headnod Suite' was recently released on Stones Throw and he had this to say about his mix;
‘I often make mixes for myself to spark inspiration. I decided to let this one out to the world with hopes it will inspire someone.’
