My heart is heavy. I had been following David Mancuso long before I became a DJ. I have always been a lover of music and sound ... Even before I became a club kid and dancer. He was a true audiophile. The nirvana he created with The Loft parties were unrivaled. Yet more so than being this giant in the music world, he was this really powerful force of nature and kindness through music.

If music was personified, if you could have an espresso and a joint with music... It would be with David Mancuso. A great purveyor of music has earned his wings.

Rest In Power "david mancuso"... You touched the heart and souls of many.

8 years ago, I did a edit dedicated to my ex. I was in a very weird space and all I could do late at night was create. So I took a Diplo remix of one of my favorite songs at the time and I tweaked it. End of story.

Before there was mp3(s) on heavy rotation, before there were immeasurable parties, before I had my first drink… I had a profound love of music. I am not famous to the mass of common denominators that scourge the earth, but I’m omnipotent in spirit of beats. Music has always been a magical place that I could go when the real world seemed excruciating. Music has always been a lover that continued to hug me when my soul was shattered. Each one of us has a rhythm and mine happens to be 4/ 4 on the floor. Before I was a dj, I was in love with music. Before I was a dancer, I was in love with music. Everything that I am is a Blessing, but one of the irrefutable building blocks of my overwhelming persona is my undeniable passion for harmonious sounds and beats. Though I grow older and wiser, there will always be an image of me at 7 years old with my pig tails flying in the wind, looking at the clouds, summertime in Chicago, listening to Thelonious Monk and having my a Dad say in the background… “The piano solo is next, listen for it”. 

F---- it... if you wanna know where I am … I am in this moment. My head is always filled with music. This is who I am. Life and music.
