One of the most iconic record labels ever to grace the Drum & Bass scene. With a catalogue of releases spanning nearly 20 years and featuring a who’s who of artists. It’s been my absolute pleasure to go back through the back catalogue from 2001 all the way up until 2020 and select my favourite tracks for an 8 Part Mix Series.

Colin Pierce is a 26 yr veteran DJ hailing from Pittsburgh, PA, USA, where he became highly and widely respected for his skills and integrity. 

“A musical journey”
Colin is a lifetime music junky. He is the first human to be born with headphones already on! Seriously though, since 6 years of age he has been actively seeking, collecting, and enjoying, music, and that was in 1983, so you do the math! Colin had 2 bands in high school, and wrote all or much of the music for them. He started mixing records in 1998 shortly after his first rave party, and hasn't stopped, always continuing to refine his formidable technical skills and dynamic range, and always working to pursue improvement. 

Colin is going on a decade clean and sober, as of 2024, and does not play gigs often anymore, focusing on discovering God's purpose. He does it strictly for the love at this point, for the communication, the merging of minds. Having retired mostly from live performances, he is now working on refining the art of mixing, which was the first love: long mixing tracks so that they really dance together and form something new and compelling. Exploring key mixing and perfecting the seamless mix is the new fascination, as well as a rediscovered passion and appreciation for liquid drum and bass. I was brought up on Motown. Then I moved to England 25 years ago. Began that journey with Orbital, Hawkwind and The Day to Day. I started going to Planet Angel, Whirly Gig, and fell in love with breakbeat after visiting the Fats Bar in Camden in 2000. My birthday is on Notting Hill Carnival. Ive been very lucky to have some excellent DJs and lovers of music throughout my life who have given me a wondrous appreciation of music, including punk and and indie.
