Over three decades ago, Jez Willis and Tim Utah formed Utah Saints after meeting in Leeds. Since then, the duo has become legends in their own right with countless performances at clubs and festivals, memorable releases that have hit the top of the charts, and remixes for other artists. Utah Saints helped bring the underground sound to the mainstream through their radio shows, club nights, and record labels, and it's clear nothing is slowing these two artists down as they dive deeper into 2023.

Last year saw the original classic 7" version of Utah Saints' beloved single "Something Good" find a home on streaming platforms for the first time ever, which was perfect timing considering the recent rise of rave-fueled sounds in the scene. Now, they've set their sights on the White Isle for their upcoming performance at Old Skool Ibiza. Set to take place from May 17-24, this week-long rave hosted by Slip Back In Time celebrates the raves of yesteryear and showcases the sounds that dominated speakers during that era.

Ahead of their set in Ibiza, Utah Saints dropped off a mix that turns back the clock and will surely have anyone who listens dancing in no time at all. "This is a snapshot of what we will be playing when we are back in Ibiza at Eden on Monday, May 22," the duo said about the mix. "Timeless mixes and tracks from the likes of Robert Hood, Bicep, Shades Of Rhythm, and 808 State, to name a few."

This is a recording of the music I played on Dec 26th 2014 at Coda in Toronto for the 10th annual Old School Boxing Day party.

I dropped many of the tunes from the late 90s / early 2000s that, to me, were THE biggest house music anthems of the time. Of course, with only an hour set I could only squeeze in so many tunes (I might just have to revisit this series a few more times to completely showcase my influences).

I realize that many house music veterans have heard these tunes a million times, but others from the new generation will be listening with fresh ears for the first time. Turn it up. Enjoy. These are my roots...

Summer 2020 Funky House Banger

Manchester (UK) based DJ/Producer Emma Clair is fast gaining recognition for her distinctive sound that combines chunky house and tech house with a hint of techno. Add to this Emma’s love of swing, jazz, funk and blues that she subtly weaves into her DJ sets and some of her own productions and you’ve got a combination that’s beginning to turn heads! 

Emma’s natural musicality, raw passion and experience has led to her being requested to play at events and venues across the UK and Europe including; Beats For Love Festival (Czech Republic), Boomtown Festival (UK), The Beatherder Festival (UK), Franz Club (Berlin), The Roxy (Prague, Czech Rep) , Operaen (Copenhagen, Denmark) , L'usine (Geneva, Switzerland), Soho , (Ibiza, Spain) , Ministry Of Sound (London) , Invisible Wind Factory (Liverpool) and Sankeys, Joshua Brooks, Bowlers, Victoria Warehouse (Manchester). 

Throughout her career she’s played alongside some of the most respected names in house music, including Marshall Jefferson, Eats Everything, Utah Saints and K Klass. 


Collectively Emma’s music has racked up over one million Spotify streams and received continued support and airplay from BBC Introducing in her home City of Manchester. She’s released on some of the most iconic labels in the dance music industry, including Chicago based Trax Records, In It Together Records and most recently Toolroom Records. 

January 2023 saw Emma make her Toolroom label debut with the aptly named track ‘Techno Music’ , followed by Jump & Twist in September. Both tracks featured on the label’s Leaders Of The New School Albums and received support from some of the biggest names in the industry, such as Mark Knight, Vintage Culture, Crusy and R3Wire.

With career highlights that include running successful club nights and sold out boat parties in Manchester for over 8 years, interviewing an array of international artists, hosting a multitude of radio shows and running her own record label; Emma is a shining example of where hard work and determination can take you.
