Kia Ora, welcome back bass heads, ravers, skankers & space cadets.

Back into it for 2022 and in this months show I kick it off with new music that I've been feeling from the last month or so with tunes from S.P.Y.  Logistics, Sl8r, Enei, Halogenix, Alix Perez, Motiv & more. 

For the second half of the show I take a dive into my back catalog of Soul:R records. I've been really feeling liquid funk recently so I run through a bunch of tunes from Calibre, MIST, Marcus, SPY and more of the Soul:R staple. Large up the Manny crew every time and RIP Marcus.

I recently picked up an AKAI MPX-16 and have been having way too much fun on it messing about with sampling old records and mashing up percussion heavy loops. I got a groove going this evening whilst recording into CoolEdit Pro and after a heavy cut 'n' paste session ended up with this filthy lo-fi 114BPM breakbeat track.

Heavy Stylus - Congo Rock (2018)

We had a great response to our last Biggie mix so we moved Big Poppa to the front of the line for an encore performance. This time we’re spotlighting “Party and Bullshit”, his debut single off the soundtrack to the comedy film, Who’s The Man? We’ve paired his distinctive flow with “Calling The Shots”; a hard funk groove with tough afrobeat horns courtesy of German ensemble, The Mighty Mocambos. Enjoy!

Note: We’re going to be working on other music projects for awhile so the funk mixes will be coming out less frequently; hopefully bi-weekly instead of our frenetic weekly pace. Thanks for the continued support and encouragement! It definitely makes a difference ;-)

The OrchKids program creates music programs in schools here, since there are no publicly funded ones. Fleg & The East Coast Affair - America In 2020 (Ft. J Zone)

Fiddlestix is a Multi Genre DJ, hailing from Bristol, UK. 

He is an avid vinyl collector and crate digger, who has been djing since 1998.
Growing up in the UK rave scene and the golden era of Hip Hop, his taste in music and his mixing style is unique, leading to a DJ who loves playing different flavours of music.

The sets he plays have seen him rock crowds at events such as Glastonbury Festival, and spin at club nights such as Fresh jive (Leeds).

He is also one half of the duo "The Waxhogs" founded back in 2018, a duo who throw (vinyl only) house party style nights, at select venues and club nights.
