A year to remember has seen Scott Andrews emerge triumphant in 2013, further cementing a career that has risen steadily since he burst onto the underground house scene in 2011, as he now enters 2014 with his "Expressions of the Soul" for Proton Music. Under his Scotty.A contraction, Scott's notoriety in hometown DJ circles from the turn of the millennium in Norwich, has quickly blossomed into events across the UK and beyond. Subsequent appearances at Ministry of Sound, Turnmills, and Pacha in the London capital have been augmented by a series of impressive international gigs. Alongside such luminaries as Dave Seaman, Guy J and Oliver Lieb, Scotty.A has delivered a compelling blend of cross-genre underground sounds that have led to appearances at John Digweed's Bedrock night in London and an extraordinary performance at Sasha's New Year's Eve, Last Night On Earth event at London's famous Brixton Academy in front of 5,000 celebrating fans. A similarly impressive production career first saw the Scotty.A name up in lights as a result of winning the Denis A remix competition for the track "Heroin". A subsequent release on DAR Digital launched a production career that has continued a steep upwards trajectory and has seen almost 100 Beatport production credits to his name on imprints such as ARVA, Axon, and Balkan Connection. A productive year for Proton has seen a remix of Tvardovsky's "Path of Light" and a full release of "What makes Us Smile" for Particles, followed by the release of two original works for the flagship Proton Music label in the shape of "The World Turns" and "Natural Senses" EPs. Supported by Hernan Cattaneo, Ben Coda and Jacob Henry, Scotty.A now returns to Proton Music at the start of 2014 with the stunning twin-track, "Expressions of the Soul". Opening track, "The Way She Smiles", sees Scott embracing his inimitable "hypnotic amalgamation of house, techno and electronica" with a tech house gem full of luscious sheen. Shimmering chord stabs weave a rhythmic pattern beneath swaying percussive hats and a bass line that prints its melodic underpinnings upon the listener's very soul. As textured layers evolve, ebbing and flowing with unconscious ease, the listener is treated to something very special indeed. Partner track, "Soul Blossom", revels in underground progressive glory. Subtle melodic motifs full of glassy reverberated texture, play charmingly against a collage of soft hypnotic stabs and straight house beats to form a bed on which they lie in perfect harmony. A cadenced bass line completes the picture as is drives the track relentlessly onwards allowing the melodic components to flourish with majestic ease. As Scotty.A continues on his path of musical enlightenment, his "Expressions of the Soul" are a source of rich spiritual nourishment.

Kicking off a new limited series on Circus Company, we return to JAW's solo project Midtown, which was released in 2014. Amongst the 19 collaborative tracks that saw the dOP vocalist sparring with musicians from all over the world, there was a spellbinding song written in conjunction with British singer-songwriter Piers Faccini.
“Traitor Creator” is a haunting track very much led by Faccini’s fragile vocal, with JAW laying down a subtle undercurrent of harmony. Meanwhile the delicate guitar tone and sparse percussion that shape out the song all lend themselves to a mournful, existential message. Even in the climax of the track, with its fractured guitar distortion, the Eastern lilt of the melody dictates a mystical atmosphere.
To frame the original track in a new light we called upon Nôze to deliver a remix. The pensive mood is maintained through a brooding low-end pulse, but the vocals are mixed to further accent the interplay between the two distinct singers. Using a stripped-back beat and threading in choice slices of the guitar alongside light touches of synth, Nico and Eze draw on the fundamental spirit of the track and take it to a new, equally captivating place.
Of all the tracks on Midtown, “Traitor Creator” was perhaps not the obvious choice for a club-friendly remix, but in such unlikely situations can some of the most captivating results be found.

In case these names don’t ring a bell, use a so called search engine and check their body of work. Someone told me that there is absolutely no other doing what they be doing. Anyway, back to the EP. Mikesh and Filburt did some cleaning up on their hidden hard drive. They found some unfinished gems which they polished until it became what you are about to hear. Next to the remastered classics ‚Gold Snake‘ and ‚Come on‘ we offer you three brand new originals. And let us tell you that these tunes go down smooth like milk and honey. The combination of Filburt’s dancefloor experience and Mikesh’s pop-appeal is undeniable. This results in a mixture of deep house, disco and euphoria which will make you wanna lift your hands in the air and grab your tissue for those tears of joy at the same time.

In the final curation of 2020 we raise a glass to Takis Shelter with a diverse collection of jams showcasing everything from blissed out jazz, funked up house, rich balearic trips and a little sprinkle of joy inducing disco. These come from a selection of our good friends across the planet who have kindly contributed their tracks to make this release happen, a big thanks to the time and effort that everybody has put into this.
100% of the proceeds from this compilation will go directly to Takis Shelter. As someone who has his roots in the music scene, Takis turned his attention from partying all night whilst running his own nightclub, to well, partying all night with more than 450 of dogs and cats that he saved from landfills and rubbish dumps in Crete. After giving up everything he owned to open his shelter, he nearly had to give up the refuge but donations made it possible for him to go on.

Back once again here is the most fabulous... Rampue! Being referred to as one of the most promising production talents and the undisputed master of the new Romantic House movement taking over todays dancefloors our man from Berlin caters his next four piece EP under the innocence-craving name of „Lets Be Kids Again“.

Starting off with the sound of looped, campfire'esque and folk-referring guitars on top of tricky, stuttering beats the opening track „Never“ is causing a bit of confusion before transforming into the most soft-skinned piece of SlowHouse one has ever come across, featuring the most tender and fracturable female voice sampled in the history of electronic music. This one's neither a track or a song – this one's nothing but pure audio love.

Coming up next is „Sometimes“ with it's deep ambient'ish intro built of layered minor strings and a few shakers which turns into a slowly pumping DiscoFunk excess serving all ingredients for being what's to be called a late night ladies tune. Seductive vocals? Check. Chicago-referring basslines? Check. Background vocoders? Check. A groove that's hell of sexy? Double check. This one's as brilliant as Daft Punk's debut album for sure.

The title track „Lets Be Kids Again“ is on a more dancefloor demanding tip with ever echo'ing sounds, pumping drums and a special clap drive perfectly corresponding with flickering, slightly balearic guitars, tweedling violins and sweet, melancholia-infused vocals singing praise of golden childhood memories.
Finally we have „Colour Back“ which is to be referred to as the next piano driven future classic. More fragile vocals meet very unique and creative filter techniques here, hosting a thrilling scifi synth line that seems to be sprung from the ItaloDisco heydays, perfectly contrasting the organic backing with its cold and artifical vibe.

The experience behind the decks and in the periphery trains his sense for the perfect club track for years.
