A while back @DurkleDisco asked me to put together a mix for their radio show on Nasty FM on the eve of St Paul's Carnival. It seemed to go down well, so I've uploaded a high quality version.

I'd been wanting to do a GRIME x BASHMENT Mix for a while so it was mad fun to do, if people like this I might even do the full hour long version I've had planned for approximately bare time.

Solid Steel in association with Serato (23rd October) In Hour 2 it's a 'DJ Madd Re-Influenced mix' where the Hungarian artist drops a special mix looking back and deconstructing music he loved growing up. He told us;
"I had the idea to make an influences mix for some time but I wanted it to be a bit more special than a collection of tracks I listened to growing up. I came up with the idea to load the tracks into the software I write music in, and treating it as one long project the same way i write music: Adding and removing parts, leaving tracks playing or totally re-writing them. The selection had to be started with one of my earliest memories of music which was Paul Simon’s Graceland album which my mother used to listen to all the time. That definitely turned me onto african influenced music with the reggae and dub influences such as Bob Marley or The Specials soon to follow. As a teenager I was really into oldschool hip-hop and after I found out there is this crazy genre called jungle that uses sped-up hip-hop beats I was instantly hooked. I religiously followed early Bristol jungle and d&b, poking around old trip-hop, and discovering ragga-jungle through Congo Natty, where all these influences from dub / fast breaks and ragga vocals seem to come together. To this day these versions can only be heard in this mix and to keep it special, I think it will remain that way."
