In this month's show the first hour by Mike Stellar comes under the theme of rethink and rise up, a sign of our times, where the artistic community needs to rise from the ashes and find new ways to intervene. The guest mix inthe 2nd hour comes from portuguese virtuoso percussionist Márcio Santos aka Magupi. You might seen his name in collaborations with Nicola Cruz, History of Colour, Barrio Lindo or Ohxalá! Unreleased tunes and some of Magupi’s favourite tracks are in this Set, wandering between the Pacific and Sahara, hitting the dancefloor with a breeze of World Downtempo and House Music.

Sofa Beats Series continues w/ Portugal duo ZEN RACOON by the artists also known as Zen Baboon.

Zen Racoon are Daniel Rosado and Henrique Palhavã. Both were born in the 70`s in Portugal and since an early age kept a close connection with the musical world, focusing on great sound quality and original construction. Daniel is a sound engineer that worked in a studio in Lisbon and started producing electronic music in the late 90′s. Henrique, a zoologist, lives and works in his own farm and started as an ambient DJ, ( ̈DJ Henriq ̈) and producer in 2001. They got together in 2003 and decided to melt their musical preferences and create Zen Racoon.

"Network Of Life" from the album "Among Trees I Want To Live".

"Among Trees I Want To Live" is spanning electro acoustic sound to meditative patterns somewhere in the landscapes you can listen and dance to. 

The album opener "Regenerative" is a deep ridin' tune driven by its deep mood and catchy guitar riffs while "Imagination Creates" hypnotically moves through dub chord driven spaces and unfolds its moving in depth groove. "The Living Green" takes us on a trip into melodic synth patterns that find their counterpart in the electric pad like guitars. "Wisdom of Resistance" carries echoes throught the magic mystical forest in an epic but deep and patient arrangement while "Electric Leaves" is tripping through a mysteriously harmonic soundspace. "Days In The Tree" follows the same path continuing that special atmosphere dipped with indian sounds 

-> Which leads to "Network Of Life":  a smooth moving Tech track that Gabriel Le Mar created in collaboration together with young new artist Joey K. 

"Outside Of Time" rounds up the album with a smooth deep shuffling beat an intense synth and ebow touched singing guitar moods. Sounds that don't exist in nature but they create an atmosphere of tender closeness to the trees.
