DJ Freedom presents FUNKY GROOVY DISCO PARTY. This mix is the first of its kind, a classic workout, a notch on House Massive's belt and joined together by the Skate Crates sound. 

125BPM all the way through, the energy is always high! 
The first hour or so is just GROOVES, and somewhere along the way songs come in and it ends on a soulful disco note. I literally dedicated some of the songs to Martina, the voice you hear on all my mixes (most of them anyway), because she's the love of my life and inspires the FEELINGS you hear coming through the mixes. 

FEELINGS are the centerpeace of this mix. It is VERY emotive, and very purposefully charged to get you dancing while feeling a certain way. This is what great dance music has always done for me, and I hope you get that from hearing this as well!

All the tricks of the mix, remix and editing trade are on full display here. Yes, I took some time to put this together-I've been working on it for nearly a month-and then the mix itself was originally 4 hours and 45 minutes. 
Here, the mix is trimmed down a bit, focusing on the main parts of what makes a mix really exciting. That's my job as a DJ: to present the best sounds and keep the integrity of the songs I play in place. Of COURSE sometimes the goal is something completely different, but overall, what you hear here will be devastating to your ears. 

There is so much here to choose from. Skaters of every walk and style, who favor one sound or another is going to find their joy here. 

This is 100% quality skate music. I choose carefully, and while there are 94 songs tracked, there are well over 100 in the mix-beats, loops, sound effects, etc....you will not be disappointed. 

Special thanks to all of the artists, their labels, producers, managers and supporters of the skate culture who send me their music and create these amazing songs. I love what you do and every one of my mixes is as much for you as it is for everyone who loves good music.

I had a lot to say here, more than usual, because that's how special this mix is to me. Oh and I CANNOT do all this and not thank my Queen Martina-the voice you hear on all my mixes-and our Sun Jelani, who gives me pointers on what to play and what he likes. He's Autistic, he doesn't speak, but he loves music as much as we do, so I do every mix with him in mind as well. He will clap when I'm on point LOL. 

Normally I post a playlist to this description but it is 94 songs, mix names and time frames. I don't always make a list of what I play like that-especially for a mix that was nearly 5 hours long-but I WILL send it to my email subscribers and post it to our Skate Crates group on Facebook. My long term plan in all of this is to open a rink in Brooklyn OR The Bronx. The latter, because I grew up there and I would love to bring it back to my foundation. Brooklyn has been home for 17 years (since 2007) so of course I am thinking of my homestead first :D

Skate Crates 68: Adult Skate '25 LIVE at Skate Luvers Roller Palace in Rochester NY. This event was a total experience!! My first time there at this amazing 40,000 square foot roller rink way upstate New York (yep, drove 7 hours each way to make it happen) and it was worth every stop to charge! Great time with even greater skaters, and the owners are the best ever. You couldn't find a couple more aligned with the vision of a better world for not just skaters but the community they serve than these two amazing people. They shall remain nameless here! 

This mix is a nice blend of nearly everything I play. I didn't play house per se, but I did add elements of house to certain songs if you listen carefully. There's the usual elements of R&B, neo-soul, Hip-Hop, funk, disco, jazz, country (yep!) and line dance anthems. It's all there. I wanted to do more but at 1am, we shut it down....so, 2.5 hours here.
