After the initial aftermath that was caused by “Infinite Impact”, things started shifting and living on their own. Along with our usual releases, we have also started to publish free downloads via our Soundcloud, which ended up like a perfect platform for artists that deserves to get a shine. In the second part “Assembly Assault”, relationships started to cultivate and get shaped much more tenaciously and dynamically since this compilation became the germ behind the bloom of our SINFUL MAZE producers community in the form of a daily chat for the artistic and the joys and hardships of everyday life lasting till nowadays… That grew into 'RODINA'! 

SINFUL MAZE brings you the 3rd part continuing with the trilogy of the Various Artists Compilation lore, the last and the biggest. Under the restless blanket of a heartless night, the sculptor shifted uneasily in his atelier sleeping quarter. Slumber evaded him, every hallucination of momentary solace chased quickly into the shadows of his disquiet. Tormented by the weight of his task, to surpass the greatest creators of the past and deliver to their dynasty an icon to strike fear and awe into the hearts of the proletariat… In the depths of that darkness his mind cried out to every conceivable higher entity, light and dark – begging for the inspiration that would save him. With the encroachment of dawn, tiredness washed over him… pulling his flayed mind into a shallow sea of morbid sleep. A torrent of nightmares flooded him - visions of an amorphous entity clawing at birthing sack, a hideous soul struggling for its freedom. He awoke with a choking gasp... adrenaline flowing. Something glinted dully upon his bedside in the morning light – the razor edge of a sculptor’s blade. Picking it up and looking closely at its sharp form, covered in an obscure script. He was certain it wasn’t there in the night, it certainly wasn’t one of his… He rose from bed, moving over to the head-shaped block of clay that had awaited his touch for too long. With precision he swiftly scraped deep into the featureless façade. Gasping suddenly, he staggered back, dropping the infernal tool in horror - fear seared deep into his eyes… the clay had reacted, drawing away from the blades edge as if it was living tissue, a trickle of blood seeping out of the fresh wound. The barely shaped head was moving… writhing as if in pain, as if it couldn’t breathe – as if there was something trapped inside... He quickly picked up the blade, cutting again and again, freeing its twisted and tortured mouth, slicing away the substance piece by piece, uncovering the flesh beneath… freeing anguish-filled, bloodshot eyes that flicked around in perpetual terror. Stepping back… he looked with mouth aghast at the vision that confronted him – the head twisting to free itself from his sculptor’s block, a vision of suffering, the deep pain of reality flooding into his creation’s soul.

One of the UK’s freshest new drum & bass talents drops his debut solo single on Critical, this one is simple mammoth! Emperor has been making waves over the past couple of years moonlighting with various camps but it was the keen ear of label boss Kasra that cottoned on early drawing him deep into the Critical ranks. If this new single is anything to go by, one of the best decisions Critical could have made.
The cinematic intro of ‘Begin’ is beautiful blend of strings, reversed fx and the sultry vocals of Georgia Yates who featured on the Enei album last year. All build to a haunting dropout before the next stage, an absolute nasty tech-stepping future roll-out that’s been getting Fabric in sweat these last few months. Twisted, uplifting and wonderfully emotive, this is another slice of Critical magic.
Next up and we’re treated to the vintage double-bass grooves of ‘She Said’. Another huge epic intro featuring a soaring vocal drifting over ethereal pads features here as hi-end percussion leads into the fattest bassline for a properly funked up dance floor workout. Think Roni Size ‘Brown Paper Bag’ or Peshay’s ‘Miles From Home’ for 2013...bad to the bone!

Beginning his journey just over 10 years ago, Freek started off teaching himself the ways of drum and bass and debuted in the scene several years his first digital release in 2010. This was the start to a musical adventure as Freek. His inspiration coming from all spectrums, he is known for being the first to pickup a guitar or jump on the piano at every opportunity and this reflects in his very out there productions that we hear today. Taking a huge inspiration from so many different sources has meant that his catalogue of music is extremely varied going from the hardest hitting jump up to the most subtle and musical liquid pieces. 

His first major release was Cobalt 60 that was released on the Ram Annual 2016 and he has gone from strength to strength since with multiple releases on several VA compilations across RAM and PROGRAM. Taking time out in 2018 to focus on his production technique and develop his sound he's now ready to show the world what he's been cooking up!
