RUSHOUR Radio Mix - August 5, 2011

It's not often that I 'geek out' over meeting artists, however hanging with DJ Quik, let alone opening for him at his first ever Australian show, was definitely a surreal experience!  He's one of the few 'Hip-Hop' producers (*musicians) who've had mainstream success that I still highly respect.  You can always count on Quik to come correct.  His music transcends the 'Hip-Hop' genre, Period.  I still dream of the day when he does an entire 'Quik's Groove' album!

So here it is, my 'freestyle' warm-up DJ set from the DJ Quik concert in Brisbane, Australia.  I actually played two sets on the night. This is a recording of the first set, which contains plenty of classic West Coast Hip-Hop/Funk goodness. Share & enjoy!

*note - On the night my boy Jonny Drama was rocking the mic throughout my set, unfortunately his vocals weren't recorded as they were going through a different audio input.  Keep that in mind when listening as there are a couple of small gaps in the recording where he was talking.
