Over the years he’s spent with Born On Road, Selecta J-Man has forged a reputation as an artist with a love of producing sounds that pack the potential to cause damage on any dancefloor. From “Couple Guinness” with Suku to “Rum & Lime” with DJ Gaw and A Little Sound, there have been some seriously weighty shots fired by Selecta J-Man of late.

We’re stoked to reveal Selecta J-Man has cooked up another treat, but this time, with the help of a certain Brazilian who loves a big bassline. If you were lucky enough to cop Selecta J-Man’s Dubpack Vol 1 earlier this year, then you’ll know all about the heavy wobs of “Sekkle Yourself”. We can now reveal L-Side has flipped the tune into something even more ridiculous! Anyone who has attended one of our Born On Road 2021 tour dates will be aware of the dancefloor destruction this nuke can cause. As a regular on V Recordings, we couldn’t be happier to welcome L-Side to Born On Road for a special remix.

Bristol based Dancehall don Blackout JA & legendary Jamaican singer Anthony Johnson join forces with New York’s Liondub and Essex based Mr. Quest to present a modern Jungle remake of Johnson’s classic 80’s Reggae hit “Gunshot”. Replete with hard-hitting, energetic drums, deep wobble subs and gritty fresh verses from Blackout, the team are making history internationally. Bristol’s Selecta J-Man ups the ante to complete the package by providing a weighty, absolutely firing stripped back remix of the Ragga anthem. Future classics!

Born On Road

From Jump up to Jungle, Garage to 140, Gaw has played and made it all. With a career spanning almost a decade, he continues to maintain his spot in the jungle/drum and bass scene, forever pushing boundaries in his sound, consistently creating Juno and Beatport #1s and causing havoc up and down the country in his sets.

Starting in the early 2010s in rural Dorset, Gaw started to get a name for himself winning DJing competitions, predominately in Bristol and London. After getting a taste of the culture in the big cities, he decided then it was time to take it seriously and start production. 

In 2019 his track ‘Dutchie’ swiftly spread across the scene, gaining attention from the original forefathers of drum and bass such as Nicky Blackmarket and Aries. This then lead to him being invited to be part of the Born On Road family. Following this he would then create ‘Rum & Lime’ with A Little Sound and Selecta J-Man, amassing over 1 million Spotify streams and countless support from other artists in the scene and fans alike.

Moreover, in the following years he would be booked in some of the biggest stages in the country, in both the club and festival scene. However, it still seems the only way is up for Gaw, maintaining his consistency and discipline every year as well as looking for new and exciting artists to collaborate with, it’s no doubt that he will evolve as an artist and continue to build the legacy he has started.
