The Global Lounge 5-2012 Mini Part 1

Gene Santiago started DJing in the Summer of 1975 when while at a party, the DJ got ill and the Legendary Disco King Mario asked him to step in. After that experience he was hooked and teamed up with DJ Ralph & the Fly Kids.
Coming up in the late 70's and early 80's you'd catch him spinning at various Hot-Spots around the NY/NJ Metro Area. He was always at the forefront experimenting with different sounds and introducing New Music to the Masses.

​In the mid 80's he embarked on a Radio Career and headed west to Los Angeles to produce several successful Radio Shows and landed an A&R job with EMI America. In 1989 he started his own Promotions Company and worked with several Independent Dance Labels as well as DJ in various LA Hot Spots. 

Traveling the world he was exposed to a wide variety of ethnic & global genres, Gene has always been a Trend Setter of Dance Music. Since the beginning, he has experienced the morph first hand of Disco, Funk, Soul, Rap, Punk Rock, and Salsa in the 70's, Dance Pop, Alternative, and Freestyle of the 80's, House, Techno, and Hi NRG of the 90's, to today's electronic genres of House Music.

A Partner at Style City Records and a private consultant on Film Scores, Party & Event Planing and is often utilized for his vast experience and music programming knowledge. His ability to morph multiple genres of music shows his creativity and musical depth.
