Time for a new podcast! Next in line to enter the spotlight is Antwerp based DJ Gorgo with a dark & heavy vinyl only mix.

"When selecting the tracks played in this set, I wanted to create a dark atmosferic mix combined with hard groovy beats. A good set is one where you listen to different subgenres. The most fun is when an artist starts mixing really new tracks with older tracks from 10, 20 or even 30 years ago. This can make mixes rare and truly inspirational for listeners."

About Dj Gorgo:
Dj Gorgo is a young artist based in Antwerp, Belgium. During 2017, he became familiar within the techno scene and fell in love with the dark, underground sounds of the genre, combined with the heavy bass they bring. He started his musical journey in 2018, releasing some tracks and experimenting on a cheap controller at home. One year later, he discovered the world of vinyl, with the purpose to study the roots of dj'ing, and he never looked back. "Hearing the needle spin is something unique, a different sound every time you play a track. Digital audio lost this colour, the dirtiness a vinyl record can bring is something digital audio cannot."

Dj Gorgo differs from other vinyl dj's by playing heavy techno bangers through the system. A lot of these bangers aren't released on vinyl, but that does not stop him from continuing to dig records in record shops and online. "The age of finding a unique sound with underground accents is now. You can accomplish a lot digitally, put down crazy layered mixes. But the power, colour and roughness of a vinyl record is unique and more people should become aware of that. Especially when listening to extreme hard tracks with deep bassy edges."

"Creating this track started accidentally when Nathan (N8TRO) sent me NETTA’s song. I struggled at first to capture her raw energy in my production. After talking more with Nathan about the meaning of the lyrics, I started feeling inspired. I took a break for a few months, then revisited it with fresh ears and a vision. I worked with friends over several months to mix and master the track, trying to capture the feeling I get from the original song.

The name "Meshugat" of the original track really connects to our theme of being seen as "crazy" by others for boldly living life on your own terms. For me it represented overcoming self-doubt and people thinking I wasn't good enough. The line "Everyone says I'm crazy, but I know my own worth" resonates with my journey. I'm proud to share this work of love. If you believe in your art, don't let others undermine your vision. Stay true to yourself."
