West Coast Tribute, Hello East Coast!

Yanis Koudjo, aka Dr Dubplate, has an affinity for BIG TUNES. A enviable record collection and a musical education gained working in London institution Plastic People (RIP), which his Dad ran for a period of time, UK club culture is a family affair for him. Gaining recognition during 2020’s lockdown for his output of garage dubs and addictive edits, he channels his love for all things bass across his label ec2a and it’s imprints OPM (Original Pirate Material) and new offering TWELVEZ. Home to emerging artists and newcomers such as Main Phase and Soul Mass Transit System and scene heroes alike - new Riko Dan just dropped, Coco Bryce on the way - Dr Dubplate is all about celebrating the culture but always forward facing. Not wanting to recycle or rest on what’s been done, he’s all about championing new talent, unsung heroes and keeping it real.

In his own words... "I wanted to encapsulate my earlier dance music influences and with my more recent influences in this mix for Untitled 909. There’s a lot of progressive house and techno flavours here with a sprinkle of the more 2 steppy and breaksy rhythms and feelings I’ve been massively inspired by and releasing on my own label, ec2a.  The lines between all these dance music genres are so blurred and intertwined that this is was the main thing I wanted to showcase in this 60 minute mix."
