if you tune the dial to 4625 kHz on a shortwave radio from anywhere in the world, you will encounter a mysterious signal known as "the buzzer". it broadcasts the same repetitive signal 25 times per minute, 24 hours a day. occasionally the buzzer is interrupted and voice messages can be heard, speaking in russian. sometimes there is even background din and distant conversation, increasing the likelihood that the transmissions are sent out live through a microphone somewhere. the buzzer has been broadcasting without pause since 1973, identifying itself as "UVB-76". although there has been enormous speculation, the purpose of this station is as of yet unknown.
these strange, lonely, dissonant frequencies are the inspiration for this mix. 

weird ambient carpool music, spiky electro noises, miscellaneous whirls and occasional bops all come together here, the culmination of a strange year on a strange planet, looking toward the future with hope...
