Loughborough College have partnered with the National Space Centre to deliver a new Space Engineering Program course for post-16 students. 

At 16, when choosing A-Levels you’re often reminded that the sky is your limit- and it’s certainly not the case for a new Space Engineering program which is being delivered by the experts at the National Space Centre and teachers at Loughborough College. 

To find out more, Laurie and I went to the National Space Centre where the program is being launched, and we’re spoke to Dr Sarah Hill who is the National Space Academy Manager and British-born astronaut Dr Piers Sellers.

Local girl Bethany Mickleburgh has been affected by this cancer in form of acute lymphoblastic leukaemia since the age of 3. After battling it twice, initially at the age of 3 and when it returned again at the age of 8, the leukaemia has returned again. When she was 8, a partial bone marrow match was founding Canada, but the doctors at the time said that the best way of beating it was with an accurate bone marrow transplant. 

Beth’s sister joined us on Takeover Radio to tell us about how she felt when she found out her sister’s Leukaemia returned, and how you can help by attending a recruitment drive to find a matching donor this afternoon.

Doctor Who may be off our screens for a little while, but that hasn’t drowsed the appetite of fans of the world’s longest sci-f TV series for all things Doctor Who. Yesterday, the Doctor Who Experience as the UK’s premier Doctor Who Exhibition after a successful run in London, opened its doors at its long term home in Cardiff, the home of Doctor Who.

On Friday 20th July I headed off to Cardiff to the opening of the astounding Doctor Who Experience.

Jonathan Dimbleby usually does the interviewing during Radio 4's Any Questions?, but when the BBC program was broadcast at my school, English Martyrs, I took the oppertunity to quiz the veteran broadcaster for our school radio station, SuperSonicFM. 

In this interview he describes how he became interested in the media, what it was like to chair the debate and talked about the big issue of the week, the media phone hacking scandals and the closure of the News of the World on the same day.

The search for King Richard III is now over, with scientists and academics at the University of Leicester confirming today (Monday 4th February) the body discovered in a car park in Leicester are the remains of the late king.
