This is Episode 1 of my new Mix Series inspired by a game I play on my iPad/iPhone called Clash of Clans. This mix is dedicated to my clan: EnvisionHarmony.  It's a mix I made while logged on to the game. In all reality, the game is always on for me. Anyway, for all the listeners out there who are listening to this mix, thank you.

Hey guys, this is Episode 2 of my new mix series which is directly inspired from a game I play on my iPad/iPhone called Clash of Clans. To all my clan mates in EnvisionHarmony ~ I love you guys. Thank you for being a part of my life. Finally, this mix is dedicated to a beautiful, intelligent, sexy and interesting girl named Simone  who lives on the other side of the world from me. She has inspired me in more ways than she will ever know.  My hopes are that if it's meant to be, that one day, I can meet her when  I'm rocking a club or party near her neck of the woods and hopefully be able to take her out to dinner. This is a special New Year's Eve (2013) Mix. It is inspired by a massive multiplayer online, real time strategy game I play on my iPhone/iPad called Clash of Clans (Developed by Supercell). DJ Hopeful's Clash of Clans Trance Sessions ~ Episode 03 Recorded Live 12/31/12 (NYE 2013 Mix)

Jane Chien, formerly known as DJ Hopeful is first and foremost a  lover of music. Always fascinated with the desire to express herself without words, she resonates with Beethoven’s belief that “Music is the language of God.” 

Jane's curiosity, passion and desire to learn music in all its forms started at an early age.  Finding her musical voice has been a life-long challenge and process.   She discovered Trance music in 1999 and was swept away by the emotions evoked by Solar Stone’s track, Seven Cities.

She knew from that moment on that Trance was the blood that flowed through her veins.  She began to go to parties and clubs, searching for the frequency that beckoned yet soothed her.   Dance Culture would forever change her life.

It was Paul Oakenfold’s Transport which ultimately led her to buy a  pair of turntables.  Thus began her journey  to create her own vibe and sound - a melodic, euphoric, epic sound  mixed with sexiness, entangled with camaraderie.  She now also prefers a dark, pulsing cathartic sound to release her darker feelings of pain and sadness.  Trance to her, has always been so effective at eliciting the deep down emotions that sometimes get buried under which upon unearthing indirectly heals the heart and soul.

Among the many who have influenced Jane's  sound throughout the many years are:  Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk, Eric Barlow, Josh Weatherspoon, Brandon Chai, ATB and Christopher Lawrence.  Every DJ and every promoter ever encountered has influenced her in one way or another.  Her most favorite DJ at the moment is Simon Patterson.

Jane has traveled quite a bit in this path as a DJ and a promoter to realize that she enjoys life behind the scenes.  She's not too interested in the politics of things and prefers "life in the lab."  She is actually in a middle of a metamorphosis right now and will emerge eventually in her rightful place, wherever that may be.  Creativity for her comes naturally and there is always something cooking in that brain and heart of her's.

As predominantly a musician, Jane's intent for her songs is to heal the human spirit and perhaps even inspire hope, because in spite of all we all go through in this crazy thing we call life, Jane Chien realizes the importance of remaining compassionate, brave, and resilient even when it feels utterly impossible to pull it off.  A  reluctant but ultimately, still a pioneer of love, her music, her former parties and possibly, one day, a future party or two, will always reflect her strong belief in love, harmony, forgiveness and the strength of the human will.
