After a successful 2017 which saw them release the debut EP, tour Poland with the climax reached at the renowned Unsound Festival and perform for the first time abroad in December, Polish-Angolan duo Lua Preta (Mentalcut + Supa Gia G) are back with a double single to kick off a new year! 

First up is 'Quero Mais' which brings a direct connection to Africa with the presence of another long-time Basy Tropikalne favourite - Morena Leraba from Lesotho. One of the continent's most distinctive voices famously appeared on Spoek Mathambo's album last year, also published a bunch of singles (including a collaboration with DJ Spoko) and now contributes his energetic verses to the track. The single marks also the first time we hear Supa Gia G in her full glory on rapping duties as she light-heartedly tells the story about her weekend preparations and plans. 

On the virtual flip-side there's gqom-inspired 'Somnilokwie' which already gained attention from the main man Branko himself who premiered it in his NTS Radio show. This instrumental beauty is another proof of Mentalcut's abilities to reinterpret African inspirations and current trends and take them to the next level with his modern electronic music additions.

orthern Italy, particularly Milan and the Veneto area have always been very open minded when it comes to new club sounds. Italy´s best tropical bass night, "Balera Favela" is hosted in Milan by Ckrono, Milangeles are stemming from Milan and Lamento has been founder of the "Muevelo o Mundo" club nights in the town of Bassano Del Grappa in the Veneto area. Many Man Recordings artists have DJed in clubs of this North Italian network.

Now Lamento, aka Andrea Campagnolo, releases his debut release on Man Recordings. A passionate record collector, Lamento has been digging music from the Southern hemisphere for years, particularly African wax. For his debut, he channels voice recordings from the Mongo people who live in the equatorial forest of Central Africa.

"Balama" comes with an all Italian remix-line up, including a tribally influenced remix by Lorenzo BITW, a UK funky inspired remix by Ckrono and a deeped-out trap remix by The Clerk.
