The Source was one of the early spots The Beat Junkies played at regularly and where you'd see groups like the Black Eyed Peas, Pharcyde, Yo Yo, Rodney O & Joe Cooley, Mad Lion, etc performing, where you'd hear Hip Hop & R&B that felt good. Back in the 90s, I was a DJ/Mixer on 92.3 The Beat and every year around this time we hosted "Summer Jam" at the Irvine Meadows (also formerly known as Verizon Wireless Amphitheater). The biggest artist in Hip Hop and R&B would grace the stage with iconic performances and I had front row view DJing on stage right of all of these artist.
