This is more than an album. This is a requiem. A two-part rock opera epic exploring the complete life, legacy, and psychological journey of a rock and roll icon. Performed by the virtual progressive metal band Adelheide's Wisdom.

LP 1: "After The Bat Was Freed ... But Before Metal Died"
A nine-act narrative that chronicles the rise and reflection of a legend. The journey begins in the industrial haze of 1960s Birmingham, capturing the spark of a Beatles-inspired dream ("The Day The Bat Was Freed"). It crashes through the chaotic birth of a new sound ("Sounds Like a Bunch of Cats Fightin'"), explores the creation of the demonic "Madman" persona ("They Call Me The Madman"), and descends into the self-destructive excesses of the 80s ("Wings of Sin"). The album finds its emotional core in the heartbreaking ballad "I Was Just A Dreamer," before culminating in a final, monumental tribute to the man behind the myth ("Prince of Eternal Fire").

With "I Was Just A Dreamer," the virtual band Adelheide's Wisdom releases the first single and emotional centerpiece from their monumental concept album, "The Laughing Shadow: An Ozzy Requiem."

This epic power ballad is a profound and heartbreaking confession that looks behind the facade of the "Prince of Darkness." It tells a story of deep inner conflict – from the celebrated rock star on the world's biggest stage to the lonely "ghost at home," alienated from his own family and confronted with a lifetime of "scrambled eggs and mistakes."

Beginning with a fragile, intimate piano theme, the song unfolds into a massive, orchestral anthem. The haunting duet vocals of Adelheide and André guide the listener through a landscape of regret, pain, and the faint, almost lost hope for forgiveness.

"I Was Just A Dreamer" is more than just a song; it is the key to understanding the entire requiem. It is a meditation on the price of fame, the walls we build around ourselves, and the tragic search of a man trying to master the one role that always seemed out of reach: that of a father.

We all together worked day and night. As the Godfather of Metal was a musical role model and one of the first albums that our producer bought was 'Paranoid'.
