Ich werde nicht lügen: Als ich diesen Mix gehort, war ich skeptisch. Der Opener, ein Remix von "Ordinary Love" durch Folamour, schlich sich an. Roosevelt bringt den synthetischen Pop-Vibe mit, Folamour legt Samt drauf. Und der Übergang, Butterweich. Kein abruptes Crossfaden, einfach Groove auf Groove, wie man es sich mag.

Peggy Gou rein mit ihrem Remix von "H2DAIZZO" – ein Remindern daran, dass House soviel Attitüde hat. Die Kick sitzt tief, aber nie aufdringlich. Der Mix bleibt stets respektvoll. Keine überbordenden Delays, keine Spielchen, die den Fluss stören. Stattdessen ein klarer Fokus auf Rhythmusarchitektur.

Paradis' "La Ballade de Jim" liefert francophone Melancholie auf 120 BPM. Der Track hebt sich ab, indem er sich in einen 6/8-Groove neigt – eine rhythmische Wendung, die nicht wie ein Bruch wirkt, sondern als hätte jemand heimlich den Raum in einen leichten Swing versetzt. Die Rückkehr zum 4/4 gelingt, ohne zu stolpern, und die Hihats tragen eine polyrhythmische Leichtigkeit, die antreibt statt zu verwirren. Es ist ein mutiger Bruch mit der bisherigen Rhythmus, aber genau deshalb funktioniert es.

Der nachfolgende "Motherfocker" von Reelow bringt wieder Drive rein – dirty, minimal, funktional. Die Reibung zwischen diesen beiden Tracks zeigt das handwerkliche Selbstbewusstsein der Mix-Curatorin.



Die letzten 20 Minuten fahren nochmal alles auf. Right To Life bringt Disco-Funk-Revival, Kevin Yost spielt seine jazzige Deepness aus, MAW & India liefern einen Klassiker, der klug und respektvoll geremixed wird. Besonders hervorzuheben ist der Umgang mit Vocals – nie zu laut, nie zu hallig, sondern immer eingebettet in ein harmonisches Ganzes.
