Namir Blade is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, and artist from Nashville Tennessee. He started experimenting with sounds at the age of six and further developing and refining his talents from middle school well into high school while attending Nashville School of the Arts.
Over the years he has had projects and collaborations that extended to multiple genres from House to Hip-hop. He has worked with some of Nashville’s most renowned artists, and is widely known for his unique sound. His stylings are often self reflective, innovative, organic, and almost sporadic at times. It is as if he is giving the listener a window to look into the mind of a modern Afro-American. Surrealism, Afro-Futurism, Nerd culture, and Black culture bleeds through his sound as primary influencers so that anyone lending an ear is immediately ejected from their seat. In the past, Namir has worked closely with several multimedia art collectives, as well as SoundCloud-Golden age producer collectives, Natural Selection and Wizards Only.

It be an almost immeasurable task to really gauge the influence this mild mannered genius has had on the music industry in particular the electronic music landscape and the impact lest forget on the film industry and the doors he blew wide open for musicians able to make a living out of scoring soundtracks. 

His recent resurgence once again into the mainstream conscious is a welcome dose of positivity back into electronic music and another one of my idols Daft Punk should be commended for how they've gone about reintroducing Giorgio to the younger generation.
His recent and rare appearance behind the decks at NYC's OUTPUT club luckily was recorded for those like myself who could not be there to witness a true disco odyssey. I've gagged hard to those Donna Summer vocal stems he teased the crowd with that night.  A fine and truly fitting tribute it was to the great late Donna Summer.

This edit has been in the vaults for years and was initially inspired during my more frequent visits and invitations to play with another great music technician and dear friend Mr Danny Tenaglia during his legendary NYC residency at Vinyl/Arc in NYC int he late 90's until 2004 and who frequently would play this track towards the twilight hours of the morning at the end of his marathon sets; One of the few Dj's in this world who just knew when to mix in the right track at the right time. A moment lost blissfully in time on the dancefloor....that's all you want...and that's what I got :)

So available for the first time, my own Re-eq'd edit, re-arranged and with some added elements to the pot to boot.

After moving to Toronto in 2003, Button found his way into the industry as a promoter at Toronto’s former Boa Redux after hours. Within a few years, he began his DJ career, holding residencies at many of the city’s influential venues including Mod Club, The Docks & Footwork to name a few.

With a sound that’s truly bound by no genres, Button’s mixes religiously bring dance floors to life.
