The future hall of famer "r&b and ribs party" took flight, and landed in Austin Texas, at SXSW 2023! I got to spin a set. It was my first time playing a party at SXSW and I was juiced! Unfortunately we did have some power issues during my set, so my actual LIVE recording was ruined, but I still wanted to share the set. Here's a re recording I just did of literally the same set, but exactly how it was supposed to be! Hope ya like it. Lookout for more R&B and Ribs parties in your area soon! The idea for this mix came from the cover photo above: a photo of my girlfriend Camille from her 90's/2000's themed birthday party back in 2021. When I came across this photo again recently, I thought to myself, "Why don't I make a mix that the ladies will love?" And so, I searched for and curated SoundCloud edits with some bomb-ass drums and a strong female presence.

The title, Get Lit Sit Pretty, on the other hand, was inspired by a night out with my girlfriend when she won a free table at Commissary 2.0 LOL. I offered to be her designated driver that night so that she'd be able to "get lit and sit pretty" with her girlfriends. As soon as I said it, I knew that it just had to be the title for this mix.

I'm so excited to share this mix with you all! I had so much fun working on this mix, and I hope you have just as much fun listening to it.

Falling in love with Soulection shows, she began her DJ journey, specializing in hip-hop, R&B, house, trap, baile funk, and jersey club. V! is a proud graduate of Season 13 of the Academy of DJs, and she’s now a key member of SoulCtrl and a resident DJ at Rewind... one of Orange County's top events.
