In the Mid 90’s I teamed up with well known local L.A. Club DJ, DJ Freddy “Looney Tunes”, and together we were spinning at local clubs in the O.C. and L.A. area. We had the honor and privilege to play along side recorded artist Kool & the Gang, War, Flock of Seagulls, Gap Band, Mariachi Sol De Mexico, Rob Base, Comedians George Lopez, Paul Rodriguez, Gabriel Iglesias, and many more. This led me to landing a resident position in O.C.’s famous club spot, Pepper’s in Garden Grove, CA. While at Pepper’s, my style of DJ’ing and personality on the Mic landed me a position for Friday Nights after successfully creating fan base of over 100+ for Happy Hour. Yes, Happy Hour. Soon after I took over, Wednesday’s, Thursday’s, and Saturday’s Night spots.

In the 80s, DJs would seek the Extended 12” versions of their favorite tracks. These sought after records would contain the cutting-edge remixes of the day. I was one of those DJs that would go digging for these treasured vinyl discs. This mixtape is from my collection and contains many songs that I loved as a kid in the 80s, and still warm my heart today. I let the songs ride because that’s how we used to do it. If you play good music, you don’t have to rush through the mix. As with fine wine. It should be savored, not gulped.
