Introducing SweetCast vol.34 with Elvin! 🎶 

We crossed paths with Elvin during our Madrid adventure, instantly captivated by her sound and infectious energy. Believe it or not, she's only been mixing for a year, but her skills resonate like she's been at it for ages!

Growing up in a musical household—thanks to her dad, a rock drummer deeply immersed in the world of jazz—Elvin's journey started with piano and singing. Initially eyeing Broadway, her trajectory took a turn when she dove into her hometown Ankara's electronic music scene, where she says the techno scene was "dismal" to say the least. Within her ten years of living in Madrid, she found her groove, ascending to stages like Mondo Disco where she recently performed, and rocking labels such as Mutual Rhythm, SK Eleven, Self Reflektion, and more on the decks.

As part of Madrid's FLINTA collective @fernweh.madrid - who, as we can testify, are whole-heartedly committed to creating a safe space for queer expression and breaking the mold of traditional techno parties in Madrid - Elvin spreads passion-music inspired by the styles of ANNE, RUIZ OSC1, Ogazon, Beste Hira, Imogen and Daria. 

Juggling a double life as a full-time lawyer and a rising DJ, Elvin is gearing up to venture into production, planning to blend her singing dreams into her tracks. Until you can catch her live in Madrid on November 17 with the @fernweh.madrid crew, sharing the stage with Caniche, get warmed up with this vibrant set!

Big shoutout from Elvin to @mondo_disko for making her dreams come true, playing her favorite club for the second time. Grateful for her passion leading to personal growth and a unique sound, she's excited about being able to connect with the world through her music.

JRUM is an Irish born DJ based in Glasgow, who first made an appearance on the scene in January this year. Since then he’s made multiple appearances in Glasgow for Eutony, Animal Farm Bassment and most recently playing at Surge, whilst making his Edinburgh debut for Eternal in June. JRUM’s sound is influenced by many different genres of dance music, along the likes of techno, trance, house and garage, old school and new, where he mixes these styles to create both a deep, but fun atmosphere.

Steø started playing music with guitar and percussion in 2011. He began his techno career in 2021 and published his first LP on June 25, 2021. He prefers hypnotic, tribal,
and groovy drum elements in his music. By adopting the fact that techno music is, perceptually, a dimensional music genre, he prefers to reflect this approach in his performances and works.

Complex Pleasure borns out of a bulk of trapped emotions, cathartic experiences, painful events and powerful impulses who ocurred during the author’s first season of 2025. A story that narrates how Illusion of Divinity came close to the most profound and hypnotic colours of electronic music, passing through hard and distorted percussions that punch the listener’s mind and motivates them to look inside their habits, conducts and thoughts. Inbetween tears, kicks and screams comes out this explosion of frecuencies that invites Illusion’s followers to look deep inside their beings and connect with the most pure and sensible way of habiting this violent world without following trends or being dominated by external influences typical of this capitalist, racist and patriarchal system.

⁠Complex Pleasure nace de un cúmulo de emociones atrapadas en la mente de Illusion of Divinity, donde reinaba el caos, el descontrol, los estímulos y los placeres complejos encontrados en un nuevo estilo de vida adoptado por el artista, una historia que narra la incursión de éste entre los sonidos más profundos e hipnóticos del Techno, con un valor fuerte musical que prioriza el sentimiento de trance que produce un dancefloor bien curado en la escena de la música electrónica.

⁠Este extended play proviene de una serie de eventos, impulsos y experiencias catárticas e introspectivas que le ocurrieron al autor durante los primeros meses del 2025. Entre lágrimas, golpes y gritos surge una explosión de frecuencias que abarcan todo el espectro, con poderosas fuentes de percusiones distorsionadas y nuevos experimentos en sonidos realizados por José María.

Va dirigido a todo público sensible, sin importar su cantidad de conocimiento sobre estos colores de la música electrónica, a tode aquelle que guste de un viaje que movilice sus cabezas en son a ver hacia adentro de sus mentes, pensamientos y conductas. Una invitación a revisar su autonomía, un claro grito a la introspección por parte del escuchante, mediante la música del autor.

⁠Invito nuevamente a que busquen adentro de sus seres qué es lo que realmente significa para ustedes la música electrónica y el arte, más que un simple beat con cosas que te mueven o una obra que te revolvió los sentimientos, sino como un portal hacia sus sentimientos más sublimes y profundos, hacia la forma más pura y sensible de habitar este mundo, entre tanta movilización de la violencia, buscar cómo transgredir esa línea a través de la innovación, y no la procreación de modas y otros artefactos de un sistema que nos oprime.
