BreaksGiving 2014 Mix

This is a breaksz mix I prepared a few years back for a fashion launch party in Shanghai, China.  Chill and eclectic, not to dark and with no cheese.  Lots of models, fashion people and artist with a custom fabricated Tent Venue by upcoming Chinese Architect right in the middle of the city. It was a collaborative project fun and different, everything NY city prepared me for.

True to form, Dave has crafted a deeply moving, thoughtful but grooving opening segment--20 minutes of pure genius that will capture the attention of the most astute listener while simultaneously igniting the dance floor. Mixing in with a heart wrenching precision, 21paths, fueled by a passion for rhythm and sound takes us to territories deep in the heart of breaks, guiding us as we traverse the highs and lows of this emotion laden landscape. For the final segment, the legendary Jayson Butera masterfully forges ahead, continuing on with epic and thunderous momentum, before easing us back down to earth, forever changed.

Серія Street Culture мікстейпів продовжує поповнюватись якісними роботами від українських діджеїв. Цього разу презентуємо мікстейп DJ Can-On, представника команди Flower Power з міста Кривий Ріг. Кенон почав захоплюватись діджеїнгом ще у 2012 році, тоді він почав свої перші кроки завдяки контролеру Numark IDJ Live та iPod Touch, але вже з практикою та через сильну любов до музики та діджеїнгу придбав свій перший сетап. З того часу Кенон колікціонує вініл, грає здебільшого на брейкінг івентах, оскільки сам є бібоєм та завжди тримає конект з танцполом, бо розуміється на брейкінгу і знає як прокачати якісно івент. Багаж музики складається з хіп-хопу, тріп хопу, фанку та брейксів. Кенон грав на більшості масштабних брейкінг івентах, а саме: Банка Фанка, Breakidz, Explosion, Joint & Jam, RedBull Ukraine Cypher та інших. Цей мікстейп наповнений брейксами, власними мешапами Кенона на потужною енергією, котра заряджає на тренування.

Solid Steel in association with Serato (11th December) In Hour 2 Strictly Kev from DJ Food takes a chronological trip through Rammellzee's intricate, confusing, yet always unique recording career as a new exhibition of artwork celebrating his Cosmic Flush album opens in London. Starting with the classic 'Beat Bop' you can hear the evolution of styles through the decades which show that Ramm was in there sowing the seeds of his Gothic Futurism and Iconoclast Panzerism theorums. Through his 80s Hip hop output, 90s collaborations and 00s return and the final album before his untimely death in 2010, it's all here. It's not always an easy ride, you either followed him or got off the bus, but for those willing to stay on board there was no one else who drove quite like this.
