On a personal note I would like to add that I really believe that this music represents some of the best of the best, the cream of the crop, of today's Progressive Psychedelic Trance.  For me it is especially nostalgic in a lot of cases to hear sounds that remind me of music that got me into Trance and electronic music to begin with. The temps are climbing, and you know what that means... Summer is here!  And to mark the occasion, strap yourselves in for another edition of 'Summertime Sizzler' a splendid assortment of the latest and greatest deep-fried psychedelic ear-treats - curated by Kahn, thanks to a plethora of today's most talented psychedelic trance artists in the scene!  Get ready for a mind-bending journey filled with twists and turns, modern and funky twists and soundscapes, and some light hearted nostalgia for good measure.  

And for this edition, a special shout out goes out to Render, whose modern and creative sound guides us through several sections of the mix.  This set was recorded live at 'Organic Circuitry' which took place at an oceanfront park in San Diego, California - the perfect backdrop for the experience! The first idea for his project came in November 1999 after attending the big techno/trance party, "TraNSplant 2" at the mega-club 'Paradiso' in Novi Sad, Serbia. Soon after, Goran began producing his own music with the inspiration of Goa Trance! Talpa has released 3 albums, a vast number of EPs & singles, in addition to numerous other releases on compilations - throughout a career spanning over 12 years!!! Talpa's sound is something truly unique and unlike anything else. His music is a funky and mysterious mixture of other worldly sounds, fused together in a totally unique and groovy way. His tracks are seamlessly composed of intertwining and complex melodies, uplifting riffs, dark atmospheres, and deep, funky, percussive grooves. In addition, Goran has a second successful project, "The Riddler" which explores lower BPM sounds - but still maintains his unique touch. These days you can find most of Talpa's releases on his home label, the Serbia based TesseracTstudio.

From a very early age he was enamored with music (originally trained as a vocalist) & has a rich musical background thanks to his family. His journey with electronic music began in 1998 as a listener and dancer, and by 2006 he had started organizing underground events in Eugene. In 2009 he had fallen so deeply in love with dance music that he started on the road of creation, for the next two years Kris poured hours & hours into production, obsessively digging into Cubase until Smoke Sign was born. Smoke Sign has an eclectic yet specific sound, pulling from both the ancient & modern worlds to weave audible magic. His conjurations are a fusion of many genres and media sources, combining elements of psytrance, house, techno, downtempo, world music & captivating vocals into his signature story telling style.

His attraction to Psychedelic Trance began with deep dark tech Trance such as: Dark Soho, the Delta, Atmos and Midi Miliz. Then went further back to old school Goa Trance such as: Cosma, Man With No Name and Etnica.  Hypnotized by these astonishing sounds in his home at Skopje, Macedonia, he felt the need to take part in this mysterious culture and create his own psychedelic interpretation. In 2001, he started to penetrate into the culture, first as a DJ and party promoter, and then when the urge to create his own sound increased, Lazovski started producing. In 2008, Egorythmia emerged into the world.  His unique and magnetic sound quickly got Iono Music’s attention, and he was immediately signed to join the family in 2008.  Since that moment his music has skyrocketed across the Psychedelic Progressive Trance sky.  With his tunes Egorythmia has got the whole world hooked up on his music.  Always on the move, Egorythmia is fired up and his flame is going to get bigger and brighter. Follow the heat, follow the light.

----> BLiSS is the internationally acclaimed music project of Yonatan Marcow. Throughout his childhood Yonatan's life revolved around music, as he was active in various rock & metal bands. At 16, Yonatan discovered electronic music, and was captivated. In 2003 Yonatan's project BLiSS came to life, and after a couple of years in the studio polishing his signature sound, BLiSS's debut album was released. A bountiful international performance schedule followed, and has been getting stronger ever since. Collaborating with fellow producer and Nutek Rec. head 'Painkiller,' the duo has released two albums and numerous other tracks under the alias 'A-Team'. I tried to include a diverse breadth of sub-styles ranging from groovy, funky, melodic, and uplifting Full-On to driving, aggressive, edgier Full-On Psychedelic Trance tracks to keep your mind, body, and spirit interested and engaged throughout.  In this mix I endeavor to take the listener on a nonstop journey from beginning to end!  This set was originally broadcast as the closing set for the Digitally Imported Goa-Psy Trance Channel's Summer Solstice 2016 event. This is a live recording of my set at SANCTUARY (pres. by: Subterranean Dwellers)- located in downtown Los Angeles.  The lineup of the party consisted of all oldschool Trance sets.  This was played 1-2AM at the peak of the night!  This is a really special set for me because this is the style that made me fall in love with Psytrance in the first place - essentially making this set into a time machine! The set list consists of some of my all-time favorite tracks.  Each one of them, for me, brings back unique memories, emotions, and feelings of nostalgia that take me back (like a time machine) to some really amazing times in my life!  I'm really happy to share this with all of you, and I hope it also brings you some good feelings, and perhaps takes you back in time as well! KAHN - Recorded Live @ Organic Circuitry San Diego - 9-23-17

The name of this mix came about during a conversation with my good friend Scott, after playing a set very similar to this at an underground party in Los Angeles.  Scott, who has been listening to Psytrance for some time now, remarked that what I played in my set that night was the perfect type of Psytrance to make new people fall in love with this music for the first time.  Both of us have roots in melodic Trance, and given how melodic, and emotionally diverse the tracks in the set were, his comment made perfect sense - for people with similar music backgrounds to us.  Little did Scott know that my brain constantly works to find and manufacture puns... And so here we are...  I am proud to present "Fall In Love With Psytrance 2017," which features a diverse assortment of emotionally complex, melodic, driving, and sometimes altogether weird Psychedelic Trance music. KAHN - Fall In Love With Psytrance 2017

Those who have been following me for awhile will remember my "Club Sounds" mixes - the last of which ("Club Sounds Vol.3") was released in 2012.  It's been awhile since I've revisited this series, and as a result, I've accumulated a large number of tracks for this mix!  For me, "Club Sounds" has been my opportunity to mix some of the "less traditional" more "hybrid genre" Psytrance tracks.  Thus, these mixes have always encompassed a diverse variety of sounds.  The common thread being that these tracks combine influences from other styles including: Trance, Techno, Electro, House, and more.  Of course since these tracks are still from Psytrance artists, the results are quite unique.  I started this series prior to the "big boom" of Progressive Psytrance that has overtaken the scene in recent years.  During these years, while there was surely traditional Progressive Psytrance, Full-On was the more "mainstream" genre.  Occasionally, some of the more forward thinking and unique Full-On artists would produce progressive tracks.  These tracks tended to be more experimental, not exactly fitting into any traditional box.  They were a bit higher energy and less traditional than typical Progressive Psytrance of the time, but not quite Full-On either.  While this is by no means a rule for every track in these mixes, these are the circumstances which led to these mixes being created.

Most of the tracks in this set are a few years old by now.  There are a few special newer ones mixed in.  I feel that the melodies, ideas, and stories crafted in these tracks are timeless anyway - and can be enjoyed years later!

Here it is! My long awaited Summer 2012 Full-On mix! This mix is an upbeat blend of today's most modern, funkadelic, high tech, and ground breaking, Full-On Psychedelic Trance. KAHN - Digitally Imported Goa Psy Channel Summer Solstice Mix - June 2013

Coming to the dance floor with a diverse background of musical experiences, Kahn conveys a unique vibe of groovy, intelligent, and seductively aggressive beats; framed by pulsating, stimulating basslines, and driven by powerful psychedelic leads and soundscapes. In his DJ sets, the dancer can expect to hear only the most modern electric sounds from around the globe - with an emphasis on heavy, funky, and cinematically immersive psychedelic trance geared toward the night and twilight hours.

In addition to his modern twilight sound, Kahn is well versed in Full-On and Progressive styles of psychedelic trance - drawing from his roots in classic Trance and melodic Full-On Psytrance to deliver powerful, psychedelic, and upliftingingly funkadelic daytime sets that pack the dance floor with good vibes!

Kahn has been a part of Southern California's electronic music and dance scene since 2005, and has been listening to and collecting electronic dance music for over a decade! He began his journey into mixing and music production in early 2007, when he started playing at gatherings around the southern California underground music scene. Since then Kahn has built a name for himself, synonymous with high quality, modern psychedelic trance; with a funky, modern, and uplifting flair! He has successfully spread this sound to other sub-scenes of electronic music, and has managed to find creative ways to incorporate this music into non-traditional settings for the style.

In July 2010, KAHN in collaboration with fellow DJ/Producer ST BLACK began organizing monthly PULSAR gatherings in Los Angeles, California. Over the past decade, Pulsar has attracted people from all over the Southern California electronic music and dance scene; delighting people with its unique and intelligent musical vibe fueled by a diverse range of local, national, and international acts. This coupled with positive intentions, and a core philosophy centered around creating high-quality experiences for psytrance lovers of all sorts has made PULSAR into a regular stop for many party goers near and far! PULSAR has been continuously organizing its staple outdoor gatherings: NEBULA and PULSAR ANNIVERSARY for over a decade, in addition to a plethora of other gatherings and partnerships - with no signs of stopping anytime soon!

In August 2014, Kahn in association with Pulsar Music and Digitally Imported started THE EDGE OF TRANCE, a new monthly podcast specializing in bringing the most cutting edge Trance music to listeners around the globe!  Every month featured a 1+ hour guest mix from a revered international artist in addition to a mix from KAHN - presenting the latest and greatest that the scene has to offer!  The Edge of Trance was broadcast continuously for over two-years, with 25 full episodes, with such great reception that still get played regularly today!
