Making their debut on Future Disco, French Electronic trio, Jabberwocky deliver with two summer-ready Nu-Disco weapons.

‘Inner Space’ jumps straight into the action with a dance-inducing bassline that commands the track, paving the way for the colourful sun-soaked instrumentation which gradually progresses, spiralling into a euphoric crescendo. Italo drums and 80s pads bring the retro fun factor whilst never taking away from the track’s fresh feel.

‘Apollo Club’ is also drenched in 80s Italo euphoria with a Funky Town-esque bassline and a contagiously catchy hook which will no doubt send dancefloors into a frenzy.

After two albums released on Polydor/Universal Music, four years of touring, and millions of views on streaming platforms and Youtube, the trio have veered into a more electronic sphere, inspired by sci-fi films, Italo Disco, House music. Their debut release on Future Disco is set to soundtrack summer dancefloors in 2021 and beyond.

Before she was Femanyst, Akua Grant was called The Lady Blacktronika, also known as the First Lady Of Beatdown. Beatdown was a type of of ultra-deep house characterized by creamy chords, soulful melodies and, in Grant's case, honeyed vocals. She ran an integral label called Sound Black Recordings, home to some of her best tracks. But around 2017, she turned towards what was essentially the polar opposite: industrial-tinged super hard techno, full of distortion and anger.

This is where we find Grant now, as Femanyst, with a mix that shows off heavy-duty techno that still has a heart. She started her own new label, called Dark Carousel, and has released on Paula Temple's Noise Manifesto. She manages to take some of the hardest techno around and imbue it with her signature melodic style. This is probably one of the toughest RA Podcasts yet, but it's also full of feeling, dynamism and tension. Get your best listening setup ready and sink in for two hours.

John Vurpillat (a.k.a. John Kaizen) was in almost every musical project I played in during my L.A. years. He was a brilliant songwriter. He was my friend.

I covered his songs, he covered mine.

This is one of 4 or 5 songs we were working on for his solo Super-Deformed Robot album "Moon Rock".  1998, recorded in my garage. John brought in MIDI files, melodies, and lyrics.

I loved working with John -- our sensibilities were very similar and complemented each other nicely. Really wish we had finished this record.
