The pic is Alma (4) chasing two crows who were on the grass before she went flying with them. We were on our way to collect her older siblings from school.

It was strange making this. Anytime I'm singing to my kids in my head it just makes it so much more important and I guess is reflected in the emotion. They are going to face so much bullshit in this world I think it's important to show them how to love and be passionate about what's real and the simple things. I guess they have a shot at loving the world and themselves if they appreciate the simplicity of where we are instead of getting lost in the fud...

I guess in a big way I have my Grandad's poems to thank for helping that approach. He'd look at a tree or a season and make it the most important thing in the universe with the way he wrote about it. I'm trying hard to do that with the songs. Everything can be loved and appreciated for what it is and I guess we don't need a creed then, we just believe and love our reality for the poetry it is.

Always ask questions. One of my earliest memories is asking my Mum from a pram "How many blades of grass in that field?" I was pretty bummed when I got an "I don't know! 😆 It was unlikely the first question my unfortunate Mum had endured on that walk...

The answer is quite random but it averages out at 200,000 blades per m2, field was about 80m x 80 so 1.2 billion blades of grass (there's a factory in that field now so eh todays the answer is  0️⃣) blades....

Humans suck at quantifying things we don't directly experience and the biggest one of those is the indirect ways we experience the climate emergency.
Here's to kids asking questions ❓
