Over the many years of active service, the team here at Four40 Records have always made a serious effort to push the UK underground music scene forward with explosive original creations and exceptional artistry, with the total number of releases under our belts now tipping over 300. 

To celebrate this amazing milestone, we have pulled a seriously cool stick of rave-ready dynamite out of the duffle bag, welcoming the sounds of Kesh Chandra to the table. As a resident on Platinum Radio London and a student of the garage sound, there was never any doubt in our minds that Kesh would deliver a serious banger, which is exactly what he does. 

As far as arrangement goes, ‘Move To The Rhythm’ is built for the dancefloor, with scintillating drum pulses and bulbous percussive pushes giving us a lively collection of rhythmic elements, topped off with some gorgeous vocal sampling and stuttering snare slides, all wheezing around together in circular fashion. Throw a couple of moogy synths on top and by jove you’ve got a recipe for a seriously good time, making this an excellent way to celebrate 300 releases from Four40!

Rising UK Garage star Kolly Borda is back with his latest earworm single ‘Wishes’, out 10th November on DJ EZ’s label Nuvolve.

An uplifting soundscape built around an intricate garage groove, ‘Wishes’ is a prime example of Kolly Borda’s inventive and layered use of pitched-up vocal hooks. Enigmatic producer WZA unveils his masterfully crafted new EP Bring That Back.

Shrouded in mystery, the producer shows off his talent for instant hooks and meticulous productions all across Bring That Back. EP opener and title track ‘Bring That Back’ builds on an irrepressible garage groove with brooding synths, bouncing bass, and ingenious vocal hooks. ‘Day & Night’ ups the tempo and spaces out the mix before breaking out in an exhilarating blend of bouncing keys and pitched-up vocals. ‘Fascinated’ presents a raw and industrial sound, carving a tight jam out of rasping percussion, before ‘Let It Go’ wraps up proceedings on an uplifting note with life-affirming handclaps and soaring synths.

Rising UK Garage star BWK Project proves why he’s one of UKG’s most talked about talents on his new single ‘Pillow Talk’, out 8th March on DJ EZ’s Nuvolve label.

Framed around fluttering synths and crisp percussion, ‘Pillow Talk’ is a lean 2-step tune from BWK Project. The Birmingham-based producer expertly contrasts delicate vocal samples with deep bass surges to craft a true old skool garage banger.

UK born, Aruhtra has continuously thrilled crowds across the globe for the last two decades, from London to Asia and the Middle East, where he travelled with his residency for Nikki Beach. Taking you back to the late 90’s and under his previous name, DJ Antonio, he paid his dues at various London clubs and bars earning his crust. His passion for house and garage shone through and played a huge part in influencing his early musical taste. Rising UK Garage star PJ Statham teams up with up-and-coming Norfolk producer Leggy on the fresh new single ‘Soundboy’, out 5th April on DJ EZ’s Nuvolve label.

Framed around a lean, uptempo groove with wobbly bass and fluttering synths, ‘Soundboy’ sees PJ Statham and Leggy in their element, throwing in crisp vocal samples and snare build ups to complete the mix. Together they craft a pure old skool garage, executed to perfection by two emerging stars.
 
Based in York, PJ Statham is leading the revival of the UKG scene with his own take on bumpy 4x4, 2-step and speed garage. His productions are characterised by his uniquely bouncy chord stabs and dynamic drum patterns that have become instantly recognisable to garage DJs and crowds alike.

Originally introduced to music production at the age of 12, the now 20-year-old has since taken his releases to a whole other level, gaining over 100k streams on his Fake ID remix, with many more tracks well on their way. This has seen his music played by huge names in the scene such as Conducta, Higgo, Notion, DJ EZ, Highrise and more, helping him to secure releases on several notable labels including Profound Sound, Silly Ugly, Pirate Cutz, Duckland, FourbyFour and Forthcoming releases on EC2A and Reptile Mobz.

PJ’s list of accolades speaks for itself, having supported Sammy Virji and Conducta at Mint Warehouse, consequently being asked by Conducta personally to record a guest mix for his label Kiwi Rekords, whilst also winning a mix competition conducted by Badger for Frontline Events to support the headliner in Bristol. PJ Statham has further played guest mixes on radios including Netil, RinseFM, Reprezent and Mode Radio. He has also overseen the rising popularity of his own record label Shellout Sessions, providing a promotional platform for young UKG producers like himself, whilst putting York on the map for underground nightlife through their events.

Leggy, his collaborator on ‘Soundboy’, is an up-and-coming UK Garage producer and DJ from Norfolk with his own buzz, making waves with his exploration of the more bass-driven side of the scene within his music.

London based DJ/Producer Kesh Chandra builds on a decade of experience as an established selector as he matures into a fully-fledged electronic artist. 

Coming up through eras of trans-Atlantic musical influence, Kesh’s exposure to everything from ‘90s RnB and Old School Garage to Chicago and Funky House has helped craft his ever-maturing sonic palate. 

Combining his classically-trained musical background (Piano & Sax) and love for House music and several of its sub-genres - Kesh has weaved a unique audio signature that retains shards of inspiration from MK through to MJ.

Throughout his career, Kesh has continuously performed at some of the world‘s best-known club spaces and festivals. His most notable highlights include Ministry of Sound, Brixton Jamm, Egg London, fabric, WeAreFstvl, Pacha, and Grasshopper Amsterdam. He has also supported some of the biggest names in electronic music, including Simon Dunmore, DJ Luck & MC Neat, Artful Dodger, Martin Liberty Larner, Sunship, Heartless Crew, DJ EZ, Danny Avila / Patrick Hagenaar, DJ S.K.T., Matt Jam Lamont and DJ Chuckie.

Now coming into his own as an upcoming production talent, Kesh’s debut release on UK based imprint Four40 Records opens the door to a whole new world of artistry as he strives for established status as a producer of cutting edge house music. 

Outside of the studio, Kesh remains active with his events promotion Love2House. Serving as a platform for himself and fresh homegrown talent, the brand continues to go from strength to strength with ambitions of becoming one of London & UK’s leading club features.
