When I started thinking about the type of mix I wanted to create, I knew I wanted to begin with the newly released tune on Metalheadz produced by Heavyweights Gremlinz and Jesta, ft. none other than the incredibly talented vocalist, flowanastasia. This tune resonated with me instantly —not necessarily in my current life, but in life in general and the experiences that shape us. It's incredibly deep and is probably one of my favorite vocal performances by Anastasia to date. So I began there and dove in with tunes I love, ones that bring amazing vibes and keep you moving. I really hope you enjoy this mix as much as I did putting it together :)

Kharis, born and raised in Toronto, Canada, developed a passion for music early on, singing, playing the cello, and mastering various brass instruments before falling in love with drums. Her journey into Jungle/DrumandBass began in the late '90s, and she has been for over the past decade now, mixing consistently and mastering her craft. Kharis takes pride in guiding listeners on a musical journey through her track selections, blending Liquid DrumnBass, Heavy Rollers, and Deep, Dark Funky Basslines. She brings the vibes every time, and her dedication to the music is evident in her beautifully curated mixes from start to finish.

In recent years, Kharis was asked to be one of the first female artists to be part of The Rather Rude Toronto Crew and since has shared stages with artists such as Mrs. Magoo (UK), Polaris (CAN), and Sevin (UK), as well as top Canadian talents from The DnB Girls, including Remedy and Mz.Revolution. She has appeared at major events like the Portland Juice DrumnBass END OF YEAR Livestream and Rather Rude Toronto shows. Kharis also traveled to Calgary, AB, in 2023 for her debut out West, and looks forward to further opportunities to travel and perform.

This past year has been an exciting and eventful one for Kharis. She was invited by MissRepresent (UK) to showcase a guest mix on Leicester Community Radio, a special moment for Kharis, as she has long admired MissRepresent as a leading female producer and DJ in the scene. Kharis also performed in the Nation’s Capital, in Ottawa this past May with The Camo Sessions Crew, which led to a headlining appearance at the Black Rabbit Campout Jungle Stage, curated by The Camo Sessions Crew, where she shared the stage with RMS (CAN) for a b2b session, on the beautifully curated Camo Sessions Stage in Bryson, Quebec.

Kharis has been busy in the studio; developing her skills as a producer, working on a variety of projects to shape her unique sound. Excited to share her music, she is focused on blending deep, dark, and melodic elements with loads of energy for the dancefloor. With several tracks in the works, Kharis is eager to get her distinctive sound out there and hopes to have an EP done sometime in 2025, so keep a look out!

Kharis' passion for the Jungle/DrumnBass scene goes beyond mixing music—she is deeply committed to promoting and uplifting the community, both locally and globally. Kharis strives to create opportunities for artists to come together, fostering unity and collaboration within the scene. Her mission is to keep the Jungle spirit alive by supporting events, promoting talent, and creating an atmosphere where creativity can thrive.
