Perugia, Italy-based producer and @Nicholas has somewhat quietly made a name for himself over the past 10 years. Known for his sample-laden sound, he's released music on labels such as Home Taping is Killing Music and Quintessentials. More recently he's had a mini-LP out on Church and an EP on Shall Not Fade. Never straying too far from what he's become known for, he's a master of putting out quality material that stays relevant no matter the year with his infectious use of jazzy samples.

We had a chat with the Italian beatsmith, focusing on some of his influences both past and present as well as the direction of his music recently and in the future. Find out more about Nicholas in the full interview below.

When speaking of electronic music in the Balkan region the name Kristijan Molnar is mentioned in the same breath. The Belgrade resident runs one of Serbia's most important radio shows, 'Christallization', hosts events at famous nightlife institutions such as Klub 20/44, Drugstore in Belgrade or Masters in Zagreb. Last year Kristijan even left his mark at the Boiler Room in his hometown and made clear why he is seen as the crowd's favorite DJ. His eclectic sets depict Kristijan's versatility when it comes to music as well as his preference for taking its audience on a journey through various styles - just as he does with his latest art:cast. Aside from mixing us through the next hour, Kristijan also spoke with Torturture the Artist about his past, present and future.

No doubt Javi Frias is one of the most respected dj´s and producers in the underground disco scene, that’s why we are thrilled to feature him.

Javi is loaded up with festival gigs, making edits and reworks, current resident at Discotizer (Madrid), and on top of that, he runs his own label NightShift Records. Phew!

Fortunately, he found an opening for us with a tasteful retro-disco, boogie and uplifting funk mix. All perfectly blended and wrapped up the “Javi-way”.

Our Russian exotic step brothers have their own elegant and distinctive sound that carefully balances musical emotion with signature beats. Equally at home on the dance floor as well as your lounge floor in your Spotify playlist. 

Nikolai has been a long time fan of Peter Broderick and was given the opportunity to work with him last year. He (and Dimitri) took Peter's vocals and created something quite beautiful, both in Ambient form as well as the 4:4 version. Ta da! Their new EP was well on it's way to completion. 

Seeing as I'm never satisfied though I insisted they stayed up late for another week and the result was L'eternite. Harking back to one of their first releases (Calinerie) on the label this subtle melodic bomb will be heard as the sun sets or the sun rises across the universe this Summer.

Our Romanian friend has established himself as one of quickly rising names in the deep, melodic/progressive scene. Aiming at developing and fostering community around groovy and melancholic vibes he founded Deep House Bucharest, a home for quality deep house music. Bross keeps the dancefloor satisfied with his commitment to the groove, which has led to major appearances alongside Lost Desert, Lee Burridge and Mihai Popoviciu. His studio sound ranges from delicate and dreamy, to more groovy, afrobeat and whimsical house sounds. His most recent project "Miragviglia EP" will be releasing on Magician On Duty in September. DJ Kitten (Nitin Khanna) grew up in India listening to Bollywood music, ghazals, and ragas.  He came to the US in 1989 and in 2010 he attended his first Burning Man and heard electronic music for the first time in his life. Since then he has been madly in love with House music listening to it for several hours a day each day. Now, there is an inner creative voice that is passionately calling out to him to both mix this music and potentially even produce it.  And he is following that passionate voice in his heart to where it takes him.
