Starting life as an offshoot label to Simple Records, @ausmusic has become a proving ground for some of dance music’s most exciting upcoming artists. Moving from post-dubstep to bass-driven house, techno and beyond over the course of 200 releases and almost 20 years, it has helped launch the careers of artists like Bicep, Dusky, Midland, Cinthie and Mark Hawkins. 

Alongside a mix from its catalogue, Kristan J Caryl talks to label founder Will Saul about staying true to his musical tastes, how he uncovers new artists and how he’s achieved longevity.

In April Rebecca and Fanny invited me for their event series Stretch & Destroy @kantinekn.
I had the honor to take over the filled floor from 01 – 04 playing maintime right after @rebecca_rotlicht . Therefore I packed some housy to proggy / tech tunes, wide ranged from 90s vinyl to current digs. Uploaded set is a 2hr excerpt.

Michael Hutter zeigt die enorme Bedeutung von Ambiguitäts- und Mehrdeutigkeitstoleranz für den Umgang mit unvermeidlichen Konflikten in einer multipolaren Weltgesellschaft. Sein Buch Anstößige Bilder analysiert mit systemtheoretischen Begrifflichkeiten beispielhaft die vom Autor als „Gesellschaftskampfspiele“ bezeichneten Auseinandersetzungen in Wirtschaft, Politik, Rechtswissenschaft, Kommunikationswissenschaft und nicht zuletzt Kunst rund um die Antisemitismusvorwürfe beim sog. „Documenta-fifteen-Skandal“. Darüber hinaus benennt Michael Hutter kulturhistorische Kontexte, die in dieser Form kaum bekannt sind. Michael Hutter war viele Jahre Leiter des Lehrstuhls für »Theorie der Wirtschaft und ihrer gesellschaftlichen Umwelt« an der Universität Witten/Herdecke sowie Direktor der Abteilung »Kulturelle Quellen von Neuheit« am Wissenschaftszentrum Berlin für Sozialforschung (WZB) und Professor für »Wissen und Innovation« am Institut für Soziologie der Technischen Universität Berlin.
