SlowMo Lounge

The Slow Mo Lounge is a series of events based in Johannesburg with the sole purpose of unearthing quality nu-disco, slow-mo and deep house sounds to a music hungry South Africa. 

Held at an ever-popular bar called Kitcheners in Braamfontein, the project plays host to a variety of well-known, up-and-coming and stalwart deejays with one thing in common, an ear for quality music. 

In this mix, resident DJ Kongisto delivers just the kind of sound you'd expect to hear during an evening with the Slow Mo Lounge crew. 

It is also a lead up to the upcoming event on the 08th August 2014. See you on the floor!

FSQ is a production team led by Chuck "Da Fonk" Fishman featuring contributions from Sa'D "The Hourchild" Ali, G Koop (part of George Clinton's production team), Chas Bronz (Bostonian and friend of Soul Clap Records) and One Era. The name is an acronym for "Funk Style Quality" - three elements that make up the core ethos of FSQ's sound.

About this mix: We are showing off the diversity of our sound - from punk funk new wave to deep boogie funk and then into traditional house music: our FSQ mix for Spin City highlights our NYC Downtown Disco 1980s inspired ethos of anything danceable can go up in the mix and that there should never be segregation of musical genres when we play. There are some unreleased FSQ productions here exclusively for Spin City, throwing it back to some of our cuts that are a decade old but never saw the light of day, while we also share some upcoming FSQ releases for Soul Clap records and beyond.
