Here is an all vinyl set very similar to the vibe Z and I performed in the park at Enclave.

The jam with Z, informed by other's in the room, including Ahva and Cha Cha, as well Aloo Gobi. K's energy contributed to the day... they as well stopped by to clean the rest of their room and moved their last few items out. Ceremonial Tea, our guiding light.

An odd day... we were all in a crazy transition period... Z and Ahva were hopping on a plane later that day for a very long awaited vacation to Thailand. We invited them over for some last minute hangs before the send off. The other transition was our roommates moving out and us in process of finding new roomies. Kailey had been packing up her stuff all week and this was the big send off, the day started out with tension... Bugs in the house created an argument, which quickly escalated... there was no resolve in the conversation, instead bitterness and a rushed evacuation from K. Ahva and Z showed up after the messiness and brought some comfort back to the home. I prepared a low dose mushroom tea and offered to share, I was seeking a cozy trippy time spinning records with friends after a really busy weekend with very little leisure. 

Z and I set the intention for the jam, "Not a moment of silence", and off we went, starting in noisy ambient territory, which very much so reflected the morning energy... Then into cozy dub and more deep techno vibes. Healing achieved through music and friends. Hope you enjoy <3

Welcome to the Midgar Records takeover. Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, the Berlin-based label will be taking over the 909 mix series for the duration of September with a mix running each week from a label affiliate with a full lowdown on the label to accompany the final edition.

Next up is Berlin-via-London DJ and producer Keplrr who released on Midgar Records recently with the glorious 'Plumes' EP featuring a remix from Priori. He's also previously released on Control Freak Recordings and Pressure Dome where he has become known for more forward-thinking broken techno music. In his contribution to the series, Keplrr digs into wriggly, groove-filled soundscapes, creating a perfect early morning or afters soundtrack as it glows throughout. A mixture of head down moments and trippy euphoria.

East coast transplant Jaggy's love for house music started at Smartbar during a memorable night at Queen! Since then Jaggy's gone on to play various venues and undergrounds in the city as well as jumpstarting Green Machine, a new and exciting party with a DIY ethos. 

Starting his musical journey in 2018 @SeanJaggy started playing records, embracing Chicago deep and jackin styles through his diligent digging at Gramaphone Records and consistant time hanging around Smartbar and other local house events. 

In more recent time, Jaggy has gone to push the pace, with faster styles such as Acid, Progressive and Tech forward tunes that work peak time dance floors. Beyond the booth, catch Jaggy curating events and collaborating with some of Chicago’s premiere underground collectives.

It draws energy and inspiration from this year's Monument festival, nestled in the Norwegian woods, and channels the interplay between the fast & the slow, the light & the dark, in sounds that I've been loving 🌲🛖☀️

For the third mix in this takeover, we welcome Amsterdam-based DJ and producer Tammo Hesselink who dives into dark, deep and murky waters for this moody session that is filled with crunchy and industrial soundscapes. We're completely obsessed with his productions over here at 909 with an incredible run of releases on labels such as Delsin, Midgar, Blank Mind and Nous'klaer Audio. A resident at much-loved Amsterdam spot, Garage Noord, Tammo Hesselink's productions tend to lean towards the bassier, more percussive side of techno. Always tapping into different sounds and styles, last year Tammo debuted a new band project with his friends under the name comforter2 and recently revived his Melatonin Man alias for a special live performance at Draaimolen Festival.

Living, breathing, banging techno from an artist defining the highly-textured new frontier of the sound in 2024.

Lindsey Wang, AKA Polygonia, has an amorphous style you could call organic—or, better yet, harmonious. She interweaves unfamiliar elements with a mercurial touch. Wang can make something completely otherworldly sound totally, well, natural. It's made her a fixture everywhere from Munich's BLITZ to major festivals like Sustain-Release and Draaimolen.

Unsurprisingly, Wang is not one to be pinned down. Be it the sound design-anchored side project Lyder, her own label QEONE, or co-producing an album's worth of experimental percussion alongside jazz drummer Simon Popp, it's fair to say her personal output matches the feverish energy of her mixes. There's multidisciplinary, and then there's Wang: Poly-disciplinary, you might say.

Wang's entry into the RA Podcast series is no different, another stellar emphasis of her artistry. RA.955 is a voyage into wild variations of texture, rhythm and feeling, guided along by the principle of endless metamorphosis. Supple driving grooves meet crinkled surfaces, scuttling hi-hats meet chattering sonics, and good luck keeping hold of a consistent drum pattern for long. Behold a living organism raised by the club and the great outdoors in equal measure.

With a very unique approach to genre. Made a feel good mix with tracks that are heavily influenced by House along with some expressive vocals. While maintaining the psychedelic and driving sounds she pushes.

Track Highlight:

"Get Up On This" by Isaiah is a track that I've played out several times and it's gotten huge responses on a variety of dancefloors. I've played it for both serious Techno crowds and more multi-genre -mixed ones. The result has been the same, Pure Joy and tons of dancing. I love that it feels like a House cut but is written at 140 BPM.

Co-founder LA rave crew and soundsystem Corduroy Garden, JdB is a live hardware artist and vinyl DJ. Romanced by the Berlin club sound, he conjures a meditative dance floor energy harkening back to the pioneers of dub techno, employing DAW-less electronics and dabbling in modular synthesis. He departs from the Berlin tradition with lysergic flourishes and moments of biting minimalism and tribal tom patterns. His releases on labels such as Pseudonote explore astrological and (of course) nautical themes. He has worked previously with artists such as Undercurrent from LA label New Palm and Zero Idea of Bay Area collective Vitamin1k.
