Also, I would like to bring some attention to the M Breezy joint that is somewhere around the 32 minute time mark called "Coffee n Such" from the Breezy OG Vybz EP on Bandcamp. I had the pleasure of meeting him, and the rest of the Peoria Pit Crew DJs, last Fall at a wonderful outside DJ event in Glen Oak Park in Peoria. I feel like when times are uncertain and stressful you have to take a minute and check you breathing. If your breathing is somewhat energetic it might be the time to take deep breaths and make that breathing calm while you gather your thoughts and your emotions. There is a surprise familiar song that was released recently by a DJ, that I respect and admire, from Chicago name Colette. Back in the late 90s I used to listen to the budding Superjane ladies laying the foundations to their greatness here in Chicago at Karma. I've also included a recent new release by Lady D. I first heard this track on Elevator Music Vol. 18. It has a nice vibe to it. I would like to give homage to the Ladies of Superjane for this month's mix. It seems quite appropriate since March is Women's History month. Peace and love to you all and enjoy the mix.

Decided to call this mix the above because truly sometimes things get hard. Usually, I make these mixes around new music that I discover, or I hear others play. By the time the beginning of the month rolls around my carts are full of new and interesting tracks that I'm slating for that month's mix. Unfortunately, this July my carts were slim pickings, and I've decided to forgo the purchases and see how these carts look in August. I suspect one of the reasons why my carts were somewhat bare is I didn't make time to dig. "Sometimes it is hard" to do this digging when other priorities require more time and attention. I'm calling this mix this because it was truly a "lazy evening" when I did this mix.... though before I made this set I was quite busy doing what needed to be done for dinner, or supper which ever way you choose to call it in your neck of the woods, at home. I'm looking forward to checking out some forthcoming events this month, one being the Tinzo & Jojo tour here in Chicago. I've been checking out this brother and sister duo for awhile now and they be bringing it. I'm curious though to see how they set the party off here in the home of house music. We can be a bit particular around these parts.

This month of November 2024 has been a rough one for my mental and I was finding it hard to find the motivation to put out this set on time as prior months. Sometimes it beez like dat. After listening to some other DJs that I admire and respect, ie C. Horton, Coflo, K. Mack, JD, and Novakane_Omega, I somehow found the spark to get it together today. Also, I've been on a multiple month task of analyzing my digital tracks for Stems. It has been arduous and I'm still in the process. I don't foresee finishing this for another tree fo months to be truthful about it. Track 10 and 12 I had fun messing around with. This month I launched a bi-monthly TwitchTV session called "Phunky Dilemmas". The main purpose of these sessions is to find music in my collection that might blend. It is a live practice session that I decided to share live on the 8th (8pm to 10pm CST) and on the 22nd (10pm to midnight CST). Sorry for the late upload, life be lifing and what not. It is important, even as an adult, to grow. Sometimes that growth requires setting boundaries on oneself to reach your goals. Sometimes this can be a bit challenging and mustering the perseverance to stay on course can be an adventure. A couple of days ago I was at a dope listening party in Chicago that had a fireside chat with the DJ afterwards and he made a statement about living versus surviving that somewhat resonated with me. That's why I've named this set as such. I know lots of us are out here in survival mode but let's not forget as the holidays roll around to also take the time and live and encourage others to be their best selves.
