DJ Lenno – “The Godfather of Australian R&B” & accredited ARIA award winner…..

Mention the name DJ Lenno to most Australians, and immediately you’ll get a response synonymous with……. The most famous Australian Urban DJ, of all time.

The impact that Lenno has made on what we listen to today in urban music, has earned him, the connotation as the “Godfather of Australian rnb.”

Whilst fitting in a colourful career as a lawyer, Dj Lenno been instrumental in pioneering urban music in Australia for over a decade – 

With 4 Gold albums to his credit, DJ Lenno has since sold over 200,000 cds, achieving not only combined Gold & platinum status but also an accredited ARIA award for sales testimonial to his massive following in Australia; as well as over a decade of successful appearances in more than 600 clubs and events worldwide.

Dj Lenno was the first DJ in Australian history to release an urban compilation called “The Ultimate R&B Collection” (released through Warner music Australia in 1997). Cutting edge at its time, the critics couldn’t stop raving about it:

The Sunday Telegraph graphically mirrored public response to Dj Lenno by rating “the Ultimate R & B Collection” a 7/10, out bidding Spiceworld by the Spicegirls (5/10) and Carnival of Souls by Kiss (3/10)…. 
Rnb had come of age and thanks to DJ Lenno was now an accepted part of Australian clubbing culture.

“Based on my success as a DJ, I felt there was a need for an injection of big glam and excitement in RNB as there was with dance and house events….. If urban music had to appeal to the masses in Australia, it needed to be packaged and showcased in such a way that even the most hardened sceptic would embrace its universal flavour.. I therefore focused on delivering in my live sets, a vibe and experience that was nothing less than hands in the air excitement…… and very much suited to the Australian party scene.”

In the last year Lenno has dwarfed all previous efforts with an even stronger presence and fan base becoming the only R&B dj in Australia sponsored by the super brand “PIONEER, Pro dj”
