I always found the voice of Mark Hollis enchanting, haunting yet sincere. I was saddened and shocked when his untimely and premature demise was announced, and felt I needed to do *something* to honor a group that gave me - and many of us - much joy over the years. DJ Bueller Custom Mix: TALK TALK

This is the first time any of my mixes were played on the radio. At the time, one of my DJ mentors, DJ Dave Rajput, was a part owner of Hot Mix Radio networks, a syndicated Mixshow provider(for whom which later I would work for and develop shows...), and one of the local Top 40 stations, KZZP was one of their affiliates. He managed to convince them to do something different every now and then on their later hours (after 11:00 PM) and was able to get a pre-recorded mix on the air.
I was a kid then and ditched school to go to the Hot Mix studios; Such nice  gear, and I was surrounded by mixing legends. Nervously and under a time constraint with unfamiliar gear, I set out to record a one-hour mix. It came out not bad for a kid: raw in some places, sloppy in others, but simple: Just 2 turntables, a bunch of records and a time constraint. I had one and a half hours to do a one hour mix - fuck ups would have to stay. (you can hear them pretty bad...)
An old friend named Lizz recorded this on her home system: a cheapie consumer system, with an even lower quality cassette tape to record to. (the one in the thumbnail...) I'm glad she did, as I have no other record of this. I unearthed this after it sitting in storage for 30 or so years.

Thanks Lizz. Thanks for everything back then when I was a kid.

I left the radio banter in for fun. Neat to hear wtf was goin' on locally 30+ years ago. Enjoy.
