Songwriter Brandon Joseph bares it all on his upcoming debut album, ‘Before You Go.’ Born to Trinidadian parents and raised in southern California, he’s creating a soulful brand of alternative guitar pop on songs such as “September,” which he says expresses “deep longing.” “Right Back” is about “emotional toxicity,” he notes, while “Seeing Stars” emerged from the feeling of being lovestruck and missing his train. “Sometimes I just lose track of time,” the newcomer tells SoundCloud in this exclusive commentary.
