@Erkko is a Helsinki-based DJ and vinyl collector into electro since the late 90s. Around the turn of the millennium, he found himself a key part of the vibrant electro scene in Finland as a DJ and promoter. A connoisseur of this golden era of new school electro, Erkko is currently also curating a compilation of rare, unreleased and forgotten tracks from Finnish producers, out on Cold Blow Records in late 2024. His exclusive mix for Dark Science Electro includes vintage tracks tied up with some more recent material.

Lo behold, as I unveil this selection of music that must be some of the most unpopular and uncool stuff that one could imagine. You will basically love it or hate it. 

It sounds like that annoying neighbour who leaves a smooth jazz web playlist on too loud while doing tantra, a lounge of an empty downtown hotel lobby, or an eternal elevator ride to nirvana. It includes a barely mixed sequence of songs from smiling dudes in white ill-fitting suits, Balkan long-haired hippies, cheezy Kazakstanian saxamaphone wizards, and at least one guy who once filed a lawsuit against The Church of Scientology.

The concept's name is a stone-cold ripoff from a legendary mix series by Ocean People @hrd_underground_workshop
