TB Premiere: Lucas Alexander - Alright Or What [TBX Records]

We're happy to introduce the futuristic 'Alright Or What' EP, a completely out-of-focus work of art. Lucas Alexander is dropping at TBX Records an amazing two-tracker with powerful vibrations and a distinctive musical mark. This man is credited with the UK night culture movement and isn't afraid to experiment with sounds, encouraging you to go into his underground sound, which is been released on some of the most prominent labels of the industry, such as MOXY and Meta. The EP begins with the 'Alright Or What' and brings some fresh vibes consisitng of tigh low-end work, catchy rythm and funky vocal laying on top of the beat. The b-side is perpesented by 'Connect Pedwar', that was co-written by Lucas and Jeris Spencer. Spencer's singing perfectly accompanies the basic groove that Lucas created. The song features a great bassline, percussion, and deep components that will get you moving. It is full of energetic vibes.

Jungle Salute gives us another window into the Jamaican heritage and musical upbringing Lucas had from his brother and father. This anthemic number is an ode to Jungle music, bringing new life to a favourite while sprinkling in nostalgia, signature breaks and sing a long chorus, it has left crowds chanting in unison every time it is played.

The Bad Boy Dub EP by Lucas Alexander & Local is set for release on December 8th. You can buy it on Beatport and Traxsource, among others. It is also available on all major streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music and SoundCloud.

Lucas Alexander - Jungle Salute (Original Mix) [RR006]

Lucas Alexander & Timmy P join up for some fresh tracks on the unstoppable Moxy Muzik, while a James View remix wraps up another vital package. 

Lucas Alexander & Timmy P are key parts of the Moxy Muzik family and soon play with boss Darius Syrossian at the monthly residency at Joshua Brooks. They are house stalwarts with a no nonsense but highly effective sound as this new drop shows. 

Trust is crisp, well-swung house music with real kick. The drums are tough and the groove has pent up energy that really draws you in as the loopy, echoing vocal rings out through the mix. A twisted and rubbery bassline eventually joins in to really take the party to the next level. When Darius first road tested it at Hideout Festival during his b2b with Jamie Jones, the place went mental and he knew right away he had a massive hit! 

Trust (James View Remix) is even deeper, with a faster, more seductive groove that is punchy and perfectly smooth for carrying crowds into the future. This remix has been road tested by many tastemakers on the scene and they have all said it's gone off! 

Last of all is the prickly Ready Breaks, a lively house cut with jacked up drums and nice warped piano chords next to subtle and soulful vocals for maximum vibes.

Lucas Alexander is no ordinary artist. With a mixture of heritage from Wales to Jamaica, the fusion of his upbringing is far from short in his music.

Cutting his teeth early on House & Garage he would travel for hours from his hometown in Cardiff with his record bag in tow to play gigs in Manchester and further. 

Over the last ten years he has honed his craft becoming a regular in the Welsh dance music scene playing alongside every heavyweight under the sun. A graduate of the university of UKG, Lucas Alexander’s perfected a new sound merging Minimal, Garage and Tech House, with his glitched-out, playful 4:4 tracks making their way into the sets of Tristan Da Cunha & Brawther aka Dungeon Meat, Enzo Siragusa, Truly Madly, Appetite's Elliot Schooling & Liam Palmer, Fish56Octagon, Danny Howard, Jamie Jones, Sarah Story, Silva Bumpa, Richy Ahmed, and many more. 

Born and raised in Cardiff, the Jamaican-Welsh artist’s early years were influenced by dubstep, Jungle and UKG. That playfulness shines through his expert productions, which are full of sampled British chit-chat and unexpected yet perfectly-timed cracked-up beats. 

With releases on his own imprint Rarebit records as well Seven Dials, Four Thirty Two, HE.SHE.THEY, a collab with DJ Deeon on Nervous Records, and a remix of Todd Edwards on Defected Records among others, Lucas is on a mission to put Wales on the map and firmly stake his claim of the Dance Music scene.
