REVEIW:
The interestingly named Youthful Implants make their debut here on Ghetto Funk. It's a perfect match as the label's mantra is "we bring the boom" and with "Hold That Gyal" there's a lot of boom indeed. The original sees wobbly bass wrestle with a loose breakbeat while the Ragga Twins spit out some pretty anthemic lyrics. Elsewhere Skulleee drops some serious post dubstep robot rhythms and Tom Showtime & DJ Maars change tack, delivering a Summery Ska joint that even throws in a bit of House Of Pain for maximum party effect.

Straight out of Switzerland, PulpFusion has been producing funky jams since the early days of nu funk, and this time around he has brought a true dream team of remixers for this enormous 7-track EP. On the flip side he has teamed up with another skilled funk producer Morris Chestnuts from Bristol as well as Producer and Rapper Imagine This from New Zealand to help complete this funk fest of a release.

Sydney, Australia’s Omegaman is back at it again, this time with a bangin’ Remix EP of his recent release on Fort Knox Recordings, the Hot Sauce EP. A longtime producer, collaborator and remixer, Omegaman has already left a mark on the international funk and breaks scene. Building from a very strong original release, Omegaman enlisted the production talents of some of his closest friends around the world, and the result is a funky slice of the tropics dished up for the dance floor massive.

Washington, DC’s kings of Tropicaliente, the Empresarios are featured on Oye Como Suena and the Skeewiff Remix ignites the vibe into an irresistible salsa breaks banger.  The funk hits the fan with the Fort Knox Five Remix of Lovers Skank featuring Patou, pure electro-ska with some groovy bass lines. The hi-hats and percussion are crisp on Qdup’s Remix of A Bailar featuring Vincent Sebastian, another slice of electro Latin funk for the dance floor. The Allergies get things started with their retro funk twist on the 1988 jam featuring Koaste. The Allergies (Dj Moneyshot & Reckabeat) is known to reshape funky vintage sounds for the modern dancefloor and that’s exactly what they do on this remix!

Shake Loves You takes on the awesome Pour Me feat. Mysdiggi and effortless turns it into their own funky disco style. The tune has undergone a huge transformation but the result is no less than: pure dancefloor dynamite.

El Bomba was a perfect match for this project as he never disappoints on the steady rockin’ b-boy bangers. The Ultimate feat. Manic and Kristy Kuwolski receives the signature Bomba treatment and yep you guessed it – it’s a banger!
