I unexpectedly went viral on TikTok for making a mistake during one of my DJ sets, but saving the mix. 😅 (link below) It happened while playing the song "Push Up" by Creeds. I forgot the tempo range was set to "wide" on my controller and went to adjust the speed when a fader nudge dropped the track from around 140 bpm to 5. It created a creepy, trippy vocal effect, and after sharing the moment on TikTok, a lot of people liked it and wanted a full track. I mashed it up with a song from my favorite artists who inspired me to be a DJ in the first place, "Freak" from Sofi Tukker.

I am just now starting production lessons and this is my first attempt at a bootleg/mashup without much experience. I recorded some of the mix on my Pioneer XDJ-XZ-W, and finished it in Ableton Live. Look forward to my edits, remixes, and mashups being even better in the future when I know what I'm doing, but I know so many of you wanted the slowdown on SoundCloud, and I couldn't leave you hanging! It may not be the ideal bootleg I have in my head, but this challenge got me to open my DAW and experiment for the first time in a while, so I really appreciate the push from my new friends over on the clock app. 😊
