Blessed Summer Solstice from the Big Island Hawaii. The dance journey was curated during a retreat in the peaceful and profound river valley of Waipio. Ecstatic Dance Sunday 4.10.22 // Big Island, Hawaii

Kalani is the birthplace of this wave of Ecstatic Dance as we know it and has held a dance strong for 25+ years. After a year break due to the pandemic, they have reopened for a reunion of the dance tribes of the Big Island and dance tribes around the world, providing an incredible movement church ecstatic dance spiritual journey experience on the dance floor every Sunday. It was an honor to lead the dance journey there this July. My intention was to incorporate music global music reflecting varying emotions to send our prayers, intentions and interconnected spirits around the world. My first full 2.5 hour set at Ecstatic Dance Salt Lake City. the dance community I have co-organized for the past 3 years with my partner, Zack. 
I took a lot more risks with this set, playing a more playful and diverse with the music range, and the dance floor loved it!  I'm so grateful, and just so you know, I'm still working on my transitions ;)  Thrilled to be learning and developing this new offering - HAPPY DANCING!

Kalani is where "Ecstatic Dance" as we know it today began 20 years ago, and it was a blessing and honor to be able to play a set for their  sacred Sunday dance. 

Currently, as the world shut downs temporarily due to CoVID-19, and sadly this means our dances as well, it felt like a meaningful and necessary time to post this set and share it with my dance communities far and wide.
