The third compilation (of four instalments) in the Various Artists catalogue of Pi Electronics is hitting physical and digital stores around the globe on the 10th of February 2023.

The concept of releasing artists, who performed at π parties (2014-2019) along with musicians who stood close to the label before and during its activity, gathers 18 tracks to the Limitation Compilation.

Music by New York City industrial legend Adam X, Swedish master mind producer Peder Mannerfelt and Irish Techno figure, Eomac (also one half of Lakker) finally takes its place on the label catalogue, along with tracks by the electro side of Italian born producer, Alessandro Adriani and the sound-aesthetic of UK hailing musicians, Slave to Society (formerly AnD ) and Sam KDC.
Berlin artists Alekzandra and Interviews appear with a synth leaning piece, and a hypnotic, broken techno contribution respectively.
You can also meet the sound of Tel Aviv’s finest electro duo TV.OUT on this release, which also includes a rare collaboration track by Ireen Amnes and Gramrcy.
Finally, ‘Limitation’ presents music by Greece affiliated acts of different backgrounds: from the dreamy guitars of Monochromatic Visions and the ambient/drone of Devika, to the broken beats of Zevla and Ønly, as well as the rolling techno of Thanos Hana. Not to mention the textures of noise band Phallucipher, the industrial slo mo techno of Thessaloniki’s, Archaic Intellect, and the noise-techno of label founder, 3.14.

A crossroad of different genres and production styles is offered in the formats of Double Vinyl Sampler, Double CD and digital for this compilation, titled “Limitation”.

Nearing the end of a busy year of remixes, collabs, and appearances on various V/As, Unknown Movements’ label boss Other Form presents ‘Each to Our Own Divide’ — his first solo EP since 2017’s ‘Unmarked Paths’ — which builds upon a recent wave of support from the likes of Charlotte de Witte, Amotik, Takaaki Itoh, Denise Rabe, Kwartz, Stephanie Sykes, Slam, and Robert S, and includes a menacing remix courtesy of Shifted.

Opener ‘Don’t Let Them Taint You’ and third track ‘Further Still’ both channel 2020’s tense and nervous energy into two ’floor-ready cuts, driven with merciless percussion and dirty analogue basslines that weave and morph as expected for the products of live hardware jams. ‘Unpicking Sides‘ and Shifted’s remix of ‘Not My Leader’ (the original version of which appeared on the label’s first V/A earlier this year) both simmer at a slower pace and delve deeper into experimental textures. Together, these tracks showcase the uniquely atmospheric techno for which Other Form is becoming known, and collectively bottle the mood of this year.

Marking its 50th release, Skryptöm records’ label head, Electric Rescue, has invited a list of exceptional artists that have inspired and shaped the label’s sound since day one, to contribute to this anniversary compilation. With this project, Electric Rescue aims to cover all aspects of techno as expressed by the early pioneers like Scan X to the new generation’s talent like K.U.S.S. 

Gathering Generations represents all the sounds that someone could listen to on Skryptom since its first release, from Deep to Banging Techno, from Ambient to Electro. Rrose, Umwelt, Amotik, Anechoic are some of the artists who took on remix duties on tracks taken from Electric Rescue’s recent Esquisse du Nouveau Monde album while this fantastic package gets completed with five special collaborations by Electric Rescue with Zadig, Scan X, Joton, Dyspal, and K.U.S.S. Collectively, these 12  tracks, constitute Skryptom’s representative sound throughout the years.
